This is a very nice and solidly built clothes drying rack that I bought for winter use when I cannot put clothing outside to dry. The construction is better than a vintage rack of about the same size that I've had for a while. It's worth paying a little extra for a well-made piece that will likely be passed on to one of my kids.

This is the 6th drying rack we have ordered from this company, so I thought it's time to give credit where due. These high quality racks are strong, sturdy, and built with good materials. Of the six racks, we have kept two for personal use and gifted the others. They are always well received as gifts. I like the fact they are made in USA!Pros: They are built with hardwood-not cheap bamboo (from a foreign land). They are assembled with screws instead of flimsy staples. They set-up and collapse for storage very easily. We had one set-up in the drive for a garage sale and the wind tipped it into a ditch (my fault for poor judgment). The rack was undamaged from this unusual test. They are built to last. Using the racks for clothes drying saves energy, wear and tear on the dryer as well as the clothes. The racks have a bit of play when set-up, but that seems reasonable so that they pivot easily for set-up and collapse for storage.Cons: They are more expensive than the cheapo junk you can find on Amazon. But, as always, you get what you pay for. Don't waste your money on the racks that don't last.One more thing: The racks come with a piece of hard candy...a thoughtful touch from a quality manufacturer.

I strongly recommend NOT buying this drying rack. It has persistent mold problems. We live in a very dry climate in southern California and even here we couldn't keep it from developing mold. I contacted the manufacturer about the mold, and they told me to clean the rack with a bleach solution and sand it down. They also said to let the drying rack dry between uses to keep more mold from developing. I cleaned it as instructed. The cleaning made it look better, but some of the mold could not be cleaned off. We were careful then to let the rack dry off between uses, but still more mold appeared and spread. We noticed that new mold spots would appear immediately under items of clothing -- we would put an item of clothing on the rack to dry off, and as soon as it was dry and we took it off the rack, there were new mold spots underneath where it had been. In other words, letting the rack dry off between uses was not the solution, because the mold would appear immediately with nearly every new use. I contacted the company again for more help, but they didn't reply. I emailed them once more and still they didn't reply. It is clear that this is a defective product -- not fit for its stated purpose as a clothes drying rack -- and the manufacturer cannot stand by its product, because it is simply defective. While we loved the size and sturdiness of this rack, in the end we had to get a different one with metal rods that wouldn't mold.

I use this drying rack primarily for drying towels and bathing suits on my balcony in Florida.. it is sturdy and large enough to hang beach towels. We get lots of wind and it has been fine outdoors. I was concerned about mold given the humidity but none has appeared. I highly recommend.
