Q: The specs say the binoculars are one pound, not 9 ounces. What gives?

I just weighed mine, without lens caps, and they weighed 0.58 pounds. Nikon Travelite, 825, 5.6* 007145 CX. I do like them for things like birding up close.

Q: Are these binoculars waterproof?

The are not weather or water proof.

Q: Are these good for football games in the nosebleed section?

Haven't tried them at sporting events, but have taken them to Alaska for spotting wild life, width of (vision) field is good, clarity of subject is great, unit is lightweight and easy to keep in focus... purchased to fill a requirement for a small powerful Binocular that was easy to pack (small in size) and easy to take along (lightweight) ...would purchase again, ( and may have to so wifey has her own!)...hth

Q: Do these binoculars come with a case?

I would call it a protective cover more than a case. It is a soft padded cover that packs well.
