Because of the small scale, I guess it's impossible to have the notes fretted to match what you hear on a real bass. In other words, the notes you think you're playing are not the notes you're going to hear, no matter how you tune this thing. Every fret, the notes shift several tones. So if you're looking for this to be a useful tool to practice playing specific songs where you need to hear the notes you're playing, it's not going to work. But if all you want to use it for is to keep your fingers limber or for practicing scales, as long as you don't listen to what you're playing, then it can provide that function.

I just got my bass neck today but it came up dented, cracked in one of the frets and dirty I'd think twice before ordering again from these people; the delivery was fast the product seems to be useful for technique rehearsing purposes so the overall is good. Hope they improve the manufacturing business thingy or lower your prices..

Its tough to practice on something that can't stay intune....

A great idea for practicing without a full size guitar. The frets could be a little closer together and the neck could be slimmer and the thumb rest needs to be closer to the strings.
