Precision Accuracy in Inches
After 25 years of papercrafting, I finally did my research and sprung for a high-end trimmer. ** I will never need to purchase another “best trimmer” recommended by some crafter at $50-$75- this Rotatrim is it for me.** I went with this due to its accuracy but also because the markings are primarily in inches, which are what I use. The first one I ordered from Amazon did not measure correctly, and I think it had already been used and returned to Amazon. After returning that, I re-ordered and got the one I currently have. I tested it out, measured for accuracy, and it is fantastic! After years of having to eyeball my trimmer and line things up, I’m having to retrain myself to trust this Rotatrim and just cut. It does not need me to do its work for it – it’s already accurate without me “helping” it! I removed the black paper guard and only put it back on the trimmer when I am cutting multiple sheets of the same size paper; it is useful for repetitive tasks. Although this is a large trimmer and doesn’t fit well on my desk, I find that I use this more than my small desk trimmer because it’s just a superior product. The only issue that I have with it is that I can’t make it super skinny cuts with it. For those, however, I will happily use a ruler, pencil, and a pair of scissors.

Clean and Accurate Trimming
I have had a 12” Mastercut for many decades. Ever since I started using 13” printers, I had to work around the size limit from time to time. I finally got this 36” trimmer, and it is no improvement in trimming performance over the 12”, that is to say, it delivers impeccable results, too. If your trim is too proud, just nudge the print a little bit and trim again to get a little curly thread and a proper cut. I should have gotten this larger trimmer years ago.

If you need an accurate and amazing cutter this is it.
In terms of what I use it for, it is used in cutting sublimation prints. It is hands down the best cutter I have personally every used, and has the precision behind it that gets an A+ in my books. Worlds better than any guillotine or standard sliding cutting I’ve ever used. Although it is more expensive than the other types of cutters, the price shows itself in the quality. It’s a well-weighted piece of engineering that allows you to take hair-thin slivers off of the paper you’re cutting if you have a minor imperfection. The issue I ran into with other cutters is the fact that when I tried to do the same, even a slight angle with a cheaper cutter would cause it to bunch up. This allows me to essentially triple my cutting speed for sublimation prints if not faster than that. Can even handle a few papers at a time with zero issue.
