Great deboning scissors - not kitchen scissors!
Purchased this to spatchcock a turkey for thanksgiving. They did the job almost too well. Last time I tried to spatchcock a turkey I used a knife and it was a huge pain, but with these I got the spine right out. I've seen reviews saying they didn't work well to cut paper or plastic but that's the point! They're not kitchen shears- get these if you're looking for something heavy duty with a bone notch for getting the bones out of your birds. I've also used them for chicken thighs and they were great. My only dislike is that they don't come apart easily to clean, you have to unscrew them.

I used these to cut up some chicken and they did a fine job.
The media could not be loaded. Old Timer Trail Boss Game Shears with Heavy Duty Construction, Custom Molded Sheath, Spring-Assisted Opening, Bone Breaking Notch, and Safety Lock for Hunting, Cleaning Game, Camping, and OutdoorsFirst impressions: Nice heavy pair of poultry shears. The metal is thick and the blades are sharp. The lock is a bit light duty, I would prefer a tighter one. The sheath is a good thick plastic and fits well.Installation/setup: Take out of the package, wash with warm soapy water, rinse, dry. Use to cut meats and the like.Final thoughts: I used these to cut up some chicken and they did a fine job. The blades cut quickly and easily through the meat, gristle and small bones. The handles feel good and give good purchase to hard squeezing.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

Well Made
I am familiar with Old Timer as a brand, having a couple of their pocket knives. I was unfamiliar with their shears though, unaware they they made anything other than knives, and I selected these thinking they'd be similar to kitchen shears. They work very well and seem to be well made. These have a solid feel to them and I like the grip. Even when wet they're easy to maintain control over, so working with them in either the kitchen or the field is easier. The blades are sharp and they do a good job of cutting through tough tissue and small bones. They make quick work of chicken bones and skin when trimming in the kitchen which saves effort.I like that the blades are curved which is different than most kitchen shears with which I have worked. This makes them a bit easier with which to work when cutting, keeping your hands clear of what you're cutting which has the dual benefits of making it easier to see what you're doing and having more room to work. When working in the field, this is more sanitary too. These come with a nice sheath which protects the shears as well as things around the shears. These are priced nicely, too.I really like these shears and I expect to see years of good service from them with proper care. They're designed well, they have some safety features built in, and the cost is very reasonable.

Strong and easy to use
Old Timer Trail Boss Series Fixed and Folding Knives with High Carbon D2 Stainless Steel Blades, TPE Grip Handles, and Custom Molded Sheaths for Hunting, Skinning, Survival, Camping, EDC, and OutdoorsMy husband loves to use the grill and smoker, and we eat a lot of meat as a result. He's tried several pairs of kitchen/grill shears so far but none are as easy for him to use as he'd like - or as strong. He has larger hands, and the fit is often tight which doesn't allow the leverage to cut through breastbones when spatchcocking - which is the main reason he uses this type of shears. These Old Timer Trail Boss shears are perfect though - they are very sturdy and sized well. They fit his hands and cut like a dream. The storage case is a bit bulky and rigid, but it definitely keeps them protected!

Sharp
Blade was sharp and stayed sharp. The only issue was that the blade chipped halfway down. Wasn't using it to break concrete just butchering a deer

Super strong scissors
I actually use these for handyman projects around the house and not for shredding chicken bones or other animals but nontheless I love these scissors. These things are BUFF and they just destroy without impunity.I find myself using them on cardboard boxes with staples, various types of tubing used in gardening, really intense packaging, thin metal items, etc. They are very comfortable and sturdy. They come with a safety sheath and a safety spring which is neccesary because these are not for kids. After using these for a few week of various items, I could tell they are really made with care and are very high quality. I'm interested in other products this company offers as I see they have a lifetime warranty on their items.

Great for difficult or serrated cuts. Okay for everything else.
These shears are the perfect size, easy to hold/handle, and are built for tough jobs. The first half to 3/4 of the blade is serrated for those tough jobs of cutting through bone and cartilage. It excels wonderfully for this type of work and then some. The shears are not heavy, and I love that they have a safety lock and sheath. The back part of the blade (aka notch) is flat like standard scissors and works 'okay' for cutting rough/thick items, but not great for flat or thinner items. Part of the reason is the notch doesn't have a ton of blade to work with, so I think that limits the versatility some (outside of snapping a bone). It still gets the job done though and I would definitely recommend it.
