Understand the product before you buy
A few people here have no idea what they are doing, they are not impressed by the output, in reality, they are misusing the product. This is a Fresnel adapter, it takes a point source of light and projects a circle from it. - Think, light house on the ocean. You must use this with a point source light/strobe. If you do not, you will not get the result you want. If you use the horseshoe/donut type of bulb on your monolight,, you will get that when focused down. Some say works better with speed lights, uh, duh, because it is a smaller point source. For all the nay sayers, go look at the bulb on a broncolor fresnel strobe, you will see it is a special tightly wound bulbI give it 3 because of cheaply made, not because of function.

Love it
Got this for my GVM 80W Continuous Lighting Bowens Mount, because I was using it for videography in events, didn't want any damaged eyes. I loved how it shapes light, I can used at church too for some events. It was the perfect solution for a spotlight, seems fancy and gives a great punch to your videosFeels well built, even if it heats it does not feel like it's gonna burn and controls very well the focusing, the beam of light is very clear, in complete darkness you can see the light rim.CAREFUL, as it has glass, it will focus the light, even in a video mentions that in can be as bright as seeing directly to the sun. Please don't find for your self or point at someone

Surprisingly Effective.
I wanted to expand my LED light kit and wanted more focused light for my spots. LED fresnel lensed lights start at around $1300. Currently beyond my budget for experimenting with them, so I found this Enmax NG 10x. I gave it a try to use on my LED spots. When it came, it seemed a little wobbly, but overall the construction wasn't bad for the price. I love the Bowens mount on it, and it snapped onto the front of my lights very quickly and easily. The amount of control you have with this adaptor is really good. It focuses the beam from wide to narrow, like any fresnel lens, and it gave a remarkable spot effect and helped me with some great rim light for the products I was shooting, as well as minimizing spill. It intensified the light coming from just a 60 and 100 watt LED. I am very impressed and have made a place for it to travel with me in my regular kit. Well worth the investment in your kit.

Great little modifier!!
Overall, I love this attachment! I've used it the most as a background light (see pictures) and I love the tight spot you can get. I've been using mine mostly with a speedlight + bowns adapter. I tried it with my monolight and wasn't as impressed. The lens seems to be made of glass and the rest is a smooth yet tough plastic. I really like the smooth action as I twist to adjust the lens. It's very easy to move, while staying in place when you're done. You can have it pointing straight up, all the way extended and the lens doesn't creep down from gravity. The gels are easy to add or remove. My only complaint with the gels is that it seems they would damage easily. In the end I have to give it 4 stars because mine did not come as pictured. It's very close but mine does not have the grid like the pictures on here. You can easily see that in my pictures. I also didn't really like it on my monolight.Everything comes in a nice little pouch. I do really like it and would consider buying another one.

Do NOT buy this
A fresnel lens for photo flash is supposed to concentrate the light coming from the studio light or speedlight. This unit does just the opposite -- it spreads the light all over the place. Moreover, when used with a speedlight, the pattern, such as it is, is in the shape of a rounded rectangle, not a circle. I tested this with both a speedlight and a studio strobe with awful results from both. I compared it to a simple snoot. The snoot was much better at containing the light in a tight circle (and less expensive). Do not believe the product description or the photos of the light pattern.
