I bought my Gaggia classic second hand. Not sure if it makes that much of a difference, but visually it gives my older machine new life. Fits and works as well as the original. Just plug and play. Much heavier than the stock aluminum - evidently it's better for heat retention. I would recommend if you're in the market for a replacement.

I'm not entirely convinced that this makes that much of a difference, but it is comparably much heavier than the stock aluminum shower holder on my Gaggia Classic (R9303 model). After the aforementioned aluminum shower holder earned its much needed retirement, I figured why not spend the extra $ on something that *in theory* should perform better. Stainless steel is heavier and does a better job of retaining heat, which should keep a more consistent temperature on the machine between shots, at the trade off of maybe taking a bit longer to heat up itself. Does it actually do anything noticeable in terms of espresso quality? I'm not so sure. But as a replacement to a seriously degraded stock holder, I'm satisfied. The newer Gaggias sell with these stock, which was a good enough reason for me.

This dispersion plate is NOT suitable for any machine that has a brew valve mounted in the centre of the dispersion plate or boiler.Won’t fit you can see from the pics that the original aluminum dispersion plate is different. Before you buy it check your machine if it looks like mine.

Easy to instal and working great, thus far.

Just an FYI this is not compatible with pre-2015 models of the Gaggia Classic group heads.
