Excellent diecast and plastic model.
Eaglemoss have a patchy record. Some of their replicas in the past have been less than they should have been for the price, while their more modern offerings are far better. I'm a bit of an on-off collector where Eaglemoss are concerned. I recently started buying the XL Star Trek ships and the Battlestar collection. The latter is strictly a collection of larger size ships, while the XL Star Trek have the smaller versions in the Eaglemoss stable too. I suppose it was seeing some of the smaller models that left me underwhelmed. However, of the XL models most look great, some, like the Pegasus, are superb. Do I wish it was in the guise of the Grissom, absolutely, but that's a minor quibble. The sculpt is great, the paintwork outstanding and the stand doesn't ruin it. The nicest part of this particular model's scale though is that at 1/500, (not mentioned anywhere, I did the maths) it sits very nicely beside the old AMT/ERTL kit of the movie Enterprise and Reliant, both 1/537. The sale is a smidge different but at half a centimetre who cares? Polar lights recently issued a 1/350 scale Grissom kit, so yes you can have that to sit beside a colossal 1/350 Enterprise, but the smaller scale models are so much easier to display. Highly recommended.

U.S.S. Pegasus NCC-53847 an unusual and elegant Star Trek design….
A great XL model of the Oberth class science vessel, made famous from Star Trek III: The Search for Spockfor being ambushed and destroyed by a Klingon Bird of Prey. (It was the USS Grissom NCC-638 that was destroyed in the movie). A nicely detailed and constructed model by Eaglemoss, which always starts discussions about “how does the crew get from main saucer to the secondary hull?” Photographs well and looks spectacular. Big little ship!
Nice model. Lots of detail, nicely painted. The Pegasus was featured in TNG, the class of ship has also been seen on the Star Trek movies (namely ST3) and other episodes of the later TV series. So you can now get up close and personal with a screen-accurate model. Really like it!

Cool little ship.
It came perfect. All the decals are lined up great. The stand is adjustible so you can get a nice level display. I'm taking it to Talos 4 to reestablish contact and visit Captain Pike's grave.

Good model a mess of a magazine
The is xl model of the Oberth class that is issue 36 in the normal line. There are vast improvements to the models detail do to it being an XL model. The Aztec paint scheme is more visible than the standard model I do have issue with the packaging. This is the third XL model that I have gotten, that has a clear circle sticker over the opening tab. I nearly ended up destroying the tab when removing the sticker. My main issues are with the magazine. The magazine is cut down and about half of its normal size . For some reason this not the USS Grissom but the USS Pegasus Despite being same class the model. The markings on the model are clearly the Pegasus, Yet the magazine is about star trek III The Search for Spock and the USS Grissom appearance in that film. There is only one page that has any content on the Pegasus in the magazine. I feel they should have simply just named the model USS Grissom, as most of the magazine is about star trek III not it appearance in the next generation. I do recommend picking this or the normal issue 36 up.

The Treaty of Algeron was a mistake!
Eaglemoss Hero Collector U.S.S. Pegasus NCC-53847 XL EditionOne of my favorite TNG storylines. This was Riker's first assignment out of the academy and a prototype vessel but didn't have the NX designation. Probably because it just tested new systems for other ships and wasn't really a new design on its own. The Oberth Class was in operation from the 2250's into the 2370's, well over 100 years. This model is really well detailed and looks great. It's big. If you are only collecting a few ships these XL model look fantastic. If you are planning on assembling a fleet i would stick to the XL space stations and regular size ship models.
