OMG this planner is beautiful! Came wrapped with the inserts already inside. Didn't come in the original Filofax box, but that isn’t super important to me. Pages are colored white, dividers are colored cream. Looks brand new, smells brand new. I took my pictures after already switching the inserts in the order I want them. Will definitely keep adding to my collection!

This is a beautiful leather planner but the one I received seems to have defective rings. They do not meet up exactly and the paper keeps getting stuck.

The color and size of this organizer is awesome. It's a bright yellow- just like the photo and it is floppy, sort of like a moderately priced leather belt material. I had not planned on using this specific planner as a main planner or wallet, I am using it more like an art planner/ common notebook, so my expectations are different. My main notebook, in comparison, is a Filofax ( same company) A5 ebony croc, and I doubt I will find any planner to replace that type of functionality.I won't compare this Classic Original to Croc collection, because it wouldn't be fair. However, I will compare it to the Malden, which I feel is sort of in the same ball park as this Original A5 .Pros--This Original Filofax is stationary ready with two pen loops, a long notepad on the back of the organizer, two long leather pockets ( I actually was able to slip another notebook (A5 100 pages) back there). The vellum that comes with the notebook is thick and this time ( first time ever) I actually finally got the DiLoro pen as advertised* which is great because it is a good pen.-The Original Filofax is firm and the texture is desk/travel ready. It keeps its shape and protects your pages from bending.- It is easy to set up: filler paper, index cards or posteds, your favorite pen, some stickers to put in the vellum pocket and poof your done.- Great writing organizer or note taking organizer.Cons-- The Original can fit over 250 pages and an extra notebook, but the shape buckles severely and contorts.- If you add more than one pen, ( or even fill both pen loops) it won't close. You will battle the leather closure and be worried that the closure will break.- You can not put anything heavy or bulky in the pockets( no cellphone, or wallet, or FOB or change pouch) , The Original will warp in shape and collapse, the notebook pockets are strictly for thin sheets of paper.- the calendar paper is tracing paper thinMalden Vs. Original(Classic)-The Malden has a thicker gsm pertaining to paper quality for the calendar inserts ( you can use a leaky gel pen and there isn't any bleed through or ghosting). If you use a gel pen on the Original calendar inserts, it will bleed through, therefore use ballpoint pens/pencil only.- The leather closure on the Malden is constructed on the interior of the Malden and is longer with more elasticity. The Original has a short stiff leather closure that is constructed on the outside of the organizer and has no elasticity, simply you can not force it to close, it won't give it will snap.- The Malden has a change pouch, the Original does not.- The Original comes in beautiful bright colors, The Malden does not.- The Original is a stiffer firm leather that keeps its' shape regardless if it is full or not. It is flexible but it is not shapeless ( hard back). The Malden is shapeless and very floppy, its' density depends on how much you fill it (its a soft back)Why a 4 Star Rating?The Original is a beautiful color, but the quality of the construction decreased with this one, in comparison to other Filofax collections. The perimeter stitching near the notepad section of my planner is already un-stitched and frayed. I just received this planner 24 hours ago and it hasn't even been tossed in a bag or backpack yet.Overall, If you are looking for a planner/organizer to actually use as a planner/organizer, then The Original* is a good purchase. Definitely pick a fun color, the shades of color of these planners are really great. Fill it up with all kinds of stationary accessories and different types of A5 6 ring paper. However, If you are looking for a wallet planner or a master planner, this is not the best long term option that Filofax has, I would recommend any size from the Croc collection or the pocket size/ A5 of the Malden Collection.

No, to my great disappointment, the product is not what I expected.I was hoping and counting on finer leather, a calendar and a bookmark.I have not used it as it isn't what I think of when I consider using Filifax.....darn it.J Maggie Wriss
