Already wore it in a moderate rain storm and it effectively keeps the water off my face and away from my head. The ventilation also keeps my head at a comfortable level. Bought 2 for our African Safari. Took note from another reviewer and put clear nail polish on the snaps. The boonies fit our heads very nicely. Adjustable strap at the cap of the hat and also along the neck. It got quite windy on Safari and by snapping the sides up, the boonie stayed put. Lightweight, easy to pack, great for keeping the hot African sun off the face. Now that we are home, I will be wearing this while gardening. Great product, highly recommend for any time wear!

This purchase was made as part of my prep for a late August Alaska visit. I needed a hat to keep off the rain but not one that would make me wish I was invisible! This hat works perfectly. I liked it so much, I actually bought a second one for my companion because it is sold as unisex but I only gave it 4 stars because it seems to be a bit small. I usually find most hats roomy but this one is just right on me with a minimum adjustment of the inside band, so I am not sure how it will fit a larger head. However, it is cleverly vented for warm weather but when the rains come, this hat keeps me dry and on windy days the strap keeps it snuggly in place. I am especially pleased with the style. It is a hat I can wear in many types of Alaska weather and still look good!

I've had this hat for a few months now and really like it. Besides being lightweight and comfortable, it has a brim broad enough to provide shade from the sun, and soft enough to not interfere with outdoor photography. The mesh keeps it relatively cool, especially if there's a breeze to be had, and I love the fact that it ties down because hats without a strap do not stay on my head. The strap also allows me to remove the hat and let it hang down my back or wrap the strap around my wrist so I do not lose it. This is a very practical hat which I use mainly for hiking and outdoor photography. I would buy it again and I recommend it.

I wear a 7 1/2 inch fitted baseball cap. This hat fits me, but just barely, and it's a bit tight. I'm hoping that over time the band will loosen a bit, but for now, it's not terrible... The hat itself is a very nice lightweight material that dries easily. The hat depth is huge. If I could pull it all the way down onto my head all the way, it would easily be over my eyes. That aspect is nice for not ruining a hairdo, but also makes it look a bit funny when the sides are buttoned up, since the extra material makes it look like one of the sides is pulling away a bit. I bought this hat for the beach and for floating down the river, so I'm not too concerned by how it looks, but if I had bought it as an everyday wear, I might not be so pleased. All in all, a pretty good hat though.

This had is the perfect hiking companion! I used to wear a plain old ball cap or trucker hat, whichever we had laying about from various events and giveaways. But, while I do have other brimmed hats, I didn't want to muck them up hiking, (dirty and sweaty, multiple washings), because they weren't cheap.This is a great price, and a great quality wide brimmed hat. I can understand completely why it's an Amazon Best Seller.The all around mesh ventilation is amazing, none of my other hat have that, and I was really surprised at how comfortable that one detail kept my head temperature.I don't often go out in the rain, but the fact that this is waterproof? And can be buttoned up on the sides to send the water backwards vs into my face? Fantastic.This hat is a hit for me. Sun protection for my neck, ears and face. Quality versatility. Great pricing. Serious outdoor hiking and adventuring upgrade that doesn't leave me feeling guilty if I ever have to pick up another one!

This simple outdoor brimmed hat is not for all. It fits my husband's head, but it is nearly too small for me. The sand color is nice. It is breathable (ventilation holes front/back/sides) and will not be gone with the win thanks to its chin strap. It will provide sun shade and good protection, but do not forget your glasses, a good cream and UV tee shirts with long sleeves. There is a headband inside to absorb sweat and provide a better comfort. This is an unbranded hat at a good price for such a good quality. It seems it will last for a while. The material is light and dries fast. To be washed at a cold temp.
