It is made of ceramic, like a porcelain-type material, with a glossy finish. It was made by STL Ocarinas in St. Louis, Missouri, and it is extremely well-crafted. If you're interested in a flute or ocarina, this is the way to go.

Q: Does the ocarina come with the box in the picture?

No it doesn't. I got this ocarina for my son for Christmas and he loves it. It has a nice sound, and the book it comes with is easy to use.

Q: How close is this in tone to the games? Namely Ocarina of Time.

Everything is an octave lower. The game plays the ocarina's notes higher to match the octave of the in-game (background) music. But that doesnt make it anh less than what it is. The instrument still sounds beautiful.
