Best of: Boney M

I was a fan of "Boney M" since 1976-77 (while growing up in the former USSR).This CD is great - 5 stars. By the way, it's always funny listening "Rasputin" track with this catch-phrase "Oh, those Russians".

My mom is so happy with this. It got here before Christmas when I ordered it for her so it was a great Christmas gift.

Great CD. Probably the best compilation out there. However, it's not as easily available as the other compilations.

I gave this CD collection 4 stars because three great songs, "El Lute", "I'm Born Again" & "Malaika" were omitted. Nevertheless, I have listened to this CD over and over and over again without ever getting bored or tired of hearing this group's melodious rhythm. For me, it's very difficult to choose a favourite song but the ones that stand out the most are "Ma Baker", "Rasputin", "Rivers Of Babylon", "He Was A Steppenwolf" & "Gotta Go Home. Listening to Boney M takes me back to a time in my life when I didn't have a care in the world. All I had to do was eat, sleep, play, attend school and of course do the one and two chores around the house but I digress. Boney M... A GREAT GROUP!!! I now realise that this group didn't get the worldwide recognition that they truly deserved.

Today on my way home from NY Chinatown, I re-discover Boney M's music from the bus driver's speaker. This is a pleasant suprise to me, because the last time I ever listen to their music was back to my childhood in Taiwan, although I couldn't understand any English then, their "Rivers of Babylon" was a great hit, and I remember I like it very much back then. Now I barely remember it but I re-heard it again and still it's great. Thanks to this bus driver, his music made me go home and googled about the song, and the group who did this song, and the reaserch lead me to this album.I don't have this album yet, but I sampled most of songs on the bus, so I really feel it deserves a five stars rating! I'll order the album as soon as I got my next pay check. Listen to it brings back some sweet memories of my childhood!

Daddy Daddy cool is a cool number and Rasputin reminds of the Russian queen who fell in love. The toe tapping 'sunny' and Hooray..It's holiday and dancing tune of Steppenwolf are great for dance floors. No woman No cry is a slow number with so clear voice and the all time fav christmas song 'Mary's Boy child Jesus christ' is one song to hum along especially at christmas time. Night flight to Venus...has exclusive tune giving a feel for an endless journey. Boney M is all time Favourite of yester years and the revival memories of unforgettable break dance n singing. A sure pick if you like Vocals and Singing music - Boney M is endless listening Choice. Pick up any time, any day, any place, its Good Listening.

more than 20 years ago Boney M came to the USSR for just a few shows. I, a college student at the time, spent two very cold winter nights in a huge line for tickets - and did not get them... Listening to these great tunes did some magic to me: it carried me to my youth - to that Moscow winter of 1979, to those evenings in our dorm filled with Boney M, Smokey, and Genghiz Khan... Thanks, Amazon for reviving those memories!
