Really nice product, many misleading statements on Amazon about it.
Let's get this out now, it's not a toy and your not going to use it in a pool. The info you need to know, these models are coded meaning several versions on same product with various options. The one currently on Amazon that I purchased (4/23/21) is artr (almost ready to run) code 798-4. There are fill in the dots on side panel to indicate version so don't go by top of box which mine shows a picture or Orange pro when it's the black regular. The artr 798-4 needs a separate battery and charger purchase so expect to spend about $40-60 for a reasonable balance charger like a common 680 (6cell/80watt) and another $30-60 for some lipo batteries.Batteries, as you can see in photo boat has a "Y" harness and inside box there is also a loop back plug in a package bag for one of the connectors which are common good xt60 type. The boat is designed for 4s power, 5000mah ideal. To do that your given options not in description of either using 2 lipo batteries 2s5000 using xt60 connector which will plug in series (7.4+7.4) making it 4s 14.8 volts or you can run lighter (thus faster) on 1 lipo 4s/5000 and insert the included plug on other battery jack. The choice is yours. Also note you can use lower capacity battery or higher but run time obviously will depend on the size like a bigger fuel tank on car farther you go. Too big may adversely effect handling but design is based on 2x 2s/5000.Next the details are also out of date. Per web info here it states powered by a brushless 2218/2600kv and pro version gets 3720/1800kv. It also says the pro has all metal parts vs plastic on base. Talking sr80pro vs sr80 which I ordered here and received. Mine has more metal parts than pictured and motor in photo is also upgraded too a 3540/1800kv. I can only assume here they upgraded the base sr80 black boat some for issues the first release had? The box does say upgraded power system and metal hardware and visually appears so.Radio is 2ghz standard cheap one but does have several extra functions above toy grade. Adjustable end points for both steering and throttle, servo reversing on both channels, trim on both channels and a dual rate for steering, 50/50 or 30/70 throttle choice switch and foam grip on steering wheel. Lacks exponential, timers, any real readout or feedback or telemetry. Runs on 4xAA batteries (not included) with power on led. Runs on DSM protocol if curious.Overall nice boat, arrived in 4 days (thank you Amazon) undamaged and double boxed. Finish pretty good with minor paint flaw right rear corner. Decals on smooth, no air bubbles. Nothing missing and included manuals in decent English with some extra hardware I didn't expect, spare prop, Allen keys, wrench, battery loop back , Velcro for battery and two set screws.Did one quick run at lake, windy and rather choppy so had to go easy but impressed with power and handling. Used a pair of 2s/5200 which I think was a wise choice given the rough conditions on lake. No water in boat so sealed nice. Range seemed ok but honestly with chop I didn't go out as far as I wanted. Overall compared to other higher performance boats on market for price I'm very happy with this sr80. Guess time will tell on longevity.*not paid or compensated nor employed or related to company or product. I've been into Rc stuff since the 80's and felt compelled to really give an honest and correct detail review of this boat* Thanks, hope it helps any lookers out.Update : 5/4/2021 self righting feature works, good. Other comments tho- added few more photos. One, I recommend packing some cut up foam pool noodles (small diameter ones) into nose of boat and glue in (I used just hot glue). If boat cracks, leaks or cover comes off that packed in material should prevent loss of your boat sinking! Next, on a later wipe out the cover did come off. It did float and luckily boat ended upright so drove to shore right away. Found a nearby fisherman able to recover the top cover. I had taped down both sides of this cover prior to my run (another saftey habit like foam packed in nose) this was not enough to fight the force of a 40+ mph wipe out and the pin (in picture) snapped off that goes into hull to hold front of cover on. Looking at a stronger fix and after this recommend a wider tape prior to use. ?packing tape? Not sure yet but I'd watch for this or run slower on 3s power.Update +2 May 17 2021- took a stainless steel screw of right diameter and cut head off. Glued into top cover, working well. Tape starting to pull paint off in a few spots but cover has yet to come off again. Radio range ok but could be better, installed a older Futaba Magnum 3pm 2.4g radio I had, much better. Performance on a 4s5200 on smooth water best, very fast. Runtimes over 5 mins on 5200mah. About 4 mins on my 3300. 2200 so short not worth it unless you create your own parallel adaptor for 4400 effect. Still almost zero water egress after even running 6 batteries in a row. Battery cutoff a tad too low for my liking. Using a cheap lipo voltage tester with alarm set at 3.6 volt per cell trip point. Beeps from alarm can be heard inside boat when you bring close and slow down. Greasing flex shaft after days run easier than expected. Quite happy with this boat for the money.Update #3 July 14- still working well. Calm water best. Boat so fast and light weight it will skip over waves rather easily which can result in a crash. Tighter the turns the slower you need to go. Having 2 10mm wrenches makes life easy to loosen flex shaft for prop and slide out and grease up. Keep some marine grease on hand, lubing that shaft & stuffing tube very very important to keep this model working or the friction heat will destroy it. Foam pool noodles working well in nose along with the metal screw that was used to replace plastic pin for top cover. Seeing I ditched the stock radio for the futaba I had can't say how well that part holds up but any decent aftermarket 3ch ground radio would work well in it. Finding even running this on a 3s or 2s battery still quite fast. Summary- for the money a very good value for a high speed boat that's beyond "toy grade".

Still having fun - No problems so far with this boat.
The boat flat moves! We have had a blast running it. Have had it out 15-20 times and have not had any issues.Battery life is great - Our 15 year old boys run it flat out and still get 10-15 + minutes of hard use. Bought a second battery and just swap it out and keep running. Have not had any overheating - cleared the water cooling tube 1x when some pond scum was blocking it a bit (hot sure I needed to but I did). The boat flips over - but the self righting works fine.Drive line - based on a couple of the reviews, this was a concern of mine - Checked an line and saw a recommendation to pull and lube the shaft after every use... I do this before I put the boat in the water each time/weekend we are at the cabin - but NOT after each use. Have been using the boat pretty consistently for about a year and have had no issues. Was a little unsure after reading a couple of the reviews - we do not have an RC shop close enough to just run over and ask the staff about/pick one up but decided to take the plunge after trying some of the smaller and cheaper boats out there. We were a bit concerned that this might not be the best boat after reading a few of the reviews, but we took the time to google some of the issues and saw what we thought were reasonable responses/fixes and everything seems to be working fine after 10-12 uses.

Needs a lot of work
I have other RC boats that cost less and are far superior. 40 mph no way. the box even says 55 kph which is 32 mph. The boat is ok but has a few design flaws. First the cooling water pick up needs to be on the bottom of the boat not on an outboard attachment near the rudder. It's out of the water too much and causes aeration of the cooling water which is why it runs so hot. The battery hold down is a joke and it only has 1 closing latch for the cover which isn't tight enough. The remote control sucks at best. It doesn't respond to rudder trim controls, the out of range signal and well as the low battery signal doesn't work at all. I almost lost it twice. Fortunately I had one of my other boats and was able to retrieve it without going swimming. Alt air has a far superior boat for just over 100 and has an approx run time of 20 min. Rethink purchasing this boat until changes are made. Only ran once but still sending back

Super fast and easy but will leak if
This boat is a great value, fast, fun, and generally sturdy. If it flips it automatically turns over. But this boat, especially I'd it flips, gets wet on the inside. Use boat tape on the hatch and you might want to seal the esc. Good battery life.
