Gives only 4K@30Hz!
I bought this cable for a 4K TV that has an HDMI 2.0 input, which I'm using as a PC monitor.Though the build quality of the cable is good (4 stars for that), somehow I'm getting only 4K@30Hz out of it.Another TV (of the same make & model), which I'm using as a second PC monitor, has the Club 3D CAC-1082 cable, that gives me [email protected] I've checked by plugging this Cable Matters 8K DP to HDMI Cable into the same DP port on my Graphics Card, but can't get more than 4K@30Hz. Whereas the other Club cable, from the same DP port output to the HDMI input of the same TV gives me 4K@60Hz. So, the problem is definitely with this cable, as something is amiss here.

This cable is very very bad.
As per image! Also it would zoom the desktop image which was not fixable!Tested under Win10 and Linux on a 6800XT!

I have never had any problems with "CableMatters" cables. Top quality always.
I have used hundreds of cables because I am a bit of a 'techie' who likes modern gadgetry and technology, and cables therefore play quite a role in my world. To be fair I have not often had many issues with my cabling but I can honestly say the I have never had any problems with "Cable Matters" branded ones. They are seldom the cheapest cables out there, but a dodgy cable can give you hours of grief and, within reason, you shouldn't skimp on the cabling - which is very often a key part of your expensive computer, audio-visual equipment etc.Over the years I would say that the type of cable I have had most problems with is actually HDMI-HDMI. I have never got to the bottom of the problem but typically I will have an HDMI cable that works perfectly well and then, one day, it will suddenly stop working. Very weird and I have no idea why HDMI should have this tendency. It's fairly rare but when it's happened it can take some investigation before concluding the cable is the culprit... and it's not always the same device. I have had other cables fail too but for some reason HDMI seem to be more prone than other types (in my experience).I am about to acquire a couple of new PC monitors and I do already have a couple of DisplayPort to HDMI cables currently being used, but will need more soon. I saw the Cable Matters 6ft cable and it's the perfect length for my new requirements, and being made by Cable Matters I feel assured that it will deliver a faultless performance for many years. This is a top-notch cable. The braiding on the cable is excellent and prevents kinks whilst being very flexible. I really like the large press-button on the DisplayPort plug which allows for safe removal of the plug from the port on any device it's connected to. Both the HDMI & DisplayPort plugs are a reassuringly snug fit. This is a considered purchase for a cable at nearly £28, but the DisplayPort to HDMI cables do tend to be a bit on the pricey side. The Cable Matters one isn't all that much more expensive than some other lesser known makes, but it is up at the higher end so I can imagine that it will be considered quite expensive by many.I am demanding the best possible image to be transmitted from my PC to the monitors and I am confident that the Cable Matters cable will serve me well. I will be thoroughly time-testing the cable over the next month and if I find any issues with the Cable Matters cable I will be here to report on it.

Nice length cable, well-built, works as advertised. Expensive though.
I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing the smaller brother of this cable, which was a short adapter style bidirectional display port to HDMI adapter which was also rated for 8k media. Its small size and lightweight meant that it was ideal for portable setups, as it could be tucked into a bag and used as necessary. The issue for people who wanted to use it as a static cable adapter comes from the necessity of having a suitable quality HDMI cable already on hand, and if you don't have one handy, the small adapters cost for a complete setup is actually much more than this product here. As they are priced at the same price, currently at £27.99.With that said, this cable versus the aforementioned adapter is the best choice if you have a permanent need for a DP to HDMI or vice versa. The cable is excellent quality and has had no issues with 1440p@144hz gaming. Which makes this a great choice for connecting the current generation of GPUs to your primary and secondary monitors, as it's fairly typical that the GPU has more DP ports, while most monitors carry more HDMI ports, this helps mitigate that issue. The cable is robust, has solid plastic strain reliefs on both ends and a soft braided sheath to protect the cable from harm from bending and abrasion damage. The connectors are fairly bulky, but this is converting signals from one connector type to another, so the bulk should be expected. Both connectors plug into their respective ports as expected and work well. The price is the cheapest you’re going to find for an 8K capable cable with this setup of connectors, of any length. If you don't care much about refresh rates and higher resolutions, you can get cheaper cables that are less capable for significantly cheaper, same for adapters. Sadly, cables with this connector setup are fairly unique and as a result are more expensive generally. However, it works as advertised and I have no issues recommending the product itself.
