Love my KVM
I was thrilled to see that you can buy the cables for the IOGEAR KVM separately. I purchased the KVM with half PS2 and half USB cables because I had several legacy machines which used PS2. In retrospect, that was not necessarily the best decision. I have subsequently replaced all but one of the older boxes with new models which do not support PS2. I tried using a PS2 to USB bridge; but, that did not seem to make the KVM very happy. The moral to this story is don't be cheap buy the right cable. What you save in emotional frustration will more than compensate for the dollars.

IOGEAR Cables and KVMs
I have yet to have a problem with IOGEAR products. As a System Administrator, I have a few home computers of various Operating Systems at my residence. My IOGEAR KVMs and cables work with all OS' and without having to do patch work, the IOGEAR equipment works at first connection.I think IOGEAR likes their own reputation for no-nonsense functionality. I do too.

Needed more of these for a KVM I bought several years ago
The KVM I purchased several years ago came with a combo of 6ft and 10ft cables. That was fine when I didn't have a rack and needed the extra stretch to get to some other systems, but, I mounted this in the middle of a rack and 6ft cables are already too long; 10ft would just be gaudy...at least I can get the shorter variety.

KVM for the long distance
Excellent way to extend your KVM switch to another tower. Setup I had was one tower right below where I was working and the other one was about 5 feet away. Standard KVM switch will not reach that far, but by swapping one of the cables I was able to control / work on both computers.

Overpriced
Way overpriced for a second tier company.Whats worse is that they are proprietary and will only work on certain models.Best advice is to stay away from this brand (switch and cable) because you willend up paying the same or more as you would for a nice belkin

OEM cable. Works like it should.
It's the right thing, it works, it's great being able to buy a replacement part when one of the set is damaged.

Housing on pins bent beyond use.
Out of the 20 that were purchased, 8 seem to have a manufacturer defect on the housing surrounding the pins. I and unable to use them.
