I used these on various electronics- computer devices, the transformer boxes on plugs and the like. They are suitably durable and stick really well and are unobtrusive. I haven't had a problem yet with them and I'm really liking what I can do with them.These DO work on metal. Reception by any given person's phone depends on the phone in part- not all phones are made equal and neither are the NFC chips that are put in phones to detect signal, and even how the phone is held can matter. If I held my phone one way it would have a hard time detecting metal or no metal, and if I held it another way it picked both right up. I put a reg tag and this one on two types of metal dog bowls. One aluminum and one stainless steel. My phone failed to read the regular tag on both, it was able to read this tag on both but repeating it over and over, once or twice I had to be a little careful how I held my phone or had to go over it a second time to get the reading. But I got it and it was there.

I used these to put an NFC tag on an outdoor steel gate, and they work really well. Most other tags either don't work on metal, aren't self-adhesive, or won't hold up to weather. I was glad to find this product after spending quite some time looking for something that would meet my needs.

I bought these after trying another brand of NFC tags I had purchased to put on some aluminum cards that I had lasered as contact cards for some colleagues. The other NFC tags did not work when stuck to aluminum but these worked as expected.

I purchased this because the description indicated it was an On-Metal NFC tag and that it would work when affixed to metal. When affixed to the metal door frame of our door, the tag is unreadable; if affixed to the brick wall or the glass in the door, it works fine. It actually adheres to the brick better than most tags, so that is our temporary workaround, but if you are looking for a tag that will work on metal, then this is not the one you want.

Doesn't work as stated. Attached to even the thinest of aluminum business cards, this NFC fails to read... Not on a fridge, on a boat, or even with a goat... it doesn't read.

Easy too use, size lines up with business card, was able to use nfc app no problem. Write/rewrite easily. They didn't take HTV vinyl from my cricut & did get a little warped. But still worked! Will buy again.

Contrary to advertisement, It almost never reads when on a metal surface. Going to experiment to see if a plastic backplate will help but probably will be finding a different NFC product.

I've used other NFC tags with no issue, but despite trying multiple apps, wifi networks, removing my phone case, etc., I couldn't get my phone to recognize its presence consistently enough to write a tag. Even when I got it to recognize it, it wouldn't write (I always got an error message).

I wanted 20 black tags and I received 10 white and 10 black.I have ordered this item 2x and the same problem - 10 white in each order.- The product works as intended but send me black nfc's - as I ordered!

I'm using these to activate shortcuts on an iPhone. I haven't needed to program them -- they work out of the box with the built in NFC reader. You do have to point the top of the phone at them - they're not detected just anywhere - but once you work that out they seem to work very well.

Product did not work on metal and was white instead of black. Very disappointing
