Wedgwood quality is not what it used to be (no longer made in England) and probably not worth the price, but still this is a nice, basic dinner set. One of the bowls arrived smashed, probably due to heavy-handed delivery drivers. The set could have been packed better to avoid movement in the box and a fragile sticker applied to the outside box.

made in indonesia. I had to get the rest of the settings on ebay (older versions made in england) and I have to say the difference in quality is astounding. This new wedgewood is not worth the money in my opinion because it is priced as high as when it was made in england but the quality is not on par with the pieces made in england.

I bought Wedgwood Nantucket dinnerware a few years ago at one of our leading department stores - I was buying dinnerware for my new home so I had to buy everything (dinner plates, soup plates, salad plates, cups, etc., etc. - the whole works) and so I bought a lot of individual pieces from Wedgwood's Nantucket collection . Was very pleased with the quality and design. Unfortunately, over the course of years a few of the plates broke and I was looking to replace them. I was so excited when I spotted this set on amazon - it has almost all of the pieces I was trying to replace and for the price it's being sold here I thought it was going to be a great bargain. I ordered it the minute I saw it here and was really looking forward to receiving this set. Well, it arrived today and I couldn't be more disappointed - I thought this set would match the Wedgwood Nantucket plates and cups I already own perfectly, after all, it's the same collection, same manufacturer, so I thought they had to match...well, they didn't. I don't mean the look as they do look alike, I mean the quality. I don't know if it's just this set, or if Wedgwood's 5-piece settings differ from individual pieces or if the quality of their Nantucket collection went down over the years, but this set's quality appeared inferior when compared to my older Wedgwood Nantucket pieces. It's everything - the quality of the bone china itself (it looks and feels rough, not at all as smooth and delicate as my older Wedgwood pieces), the relief design on the edges of the plates (when you turn these plates over you still can sort of see it, not so with my older plates - when you turn those over, the surface is absolutely smooth), even the stamps on plates and on the bottom of the cup appear different - a lot more pale, some of them blurred or smudged. The Wedgwood Nantucket pieces that I'd bought previously are very high quality, great craftsmanship, they look and feel delicate, smooth, polished, if not sophisticated, fine china indeed. This set looks and feels rough, coarse, hastily thrown together, and, most importantly, CHEAP (and the price tag on it is everything but (cheap)). Nothing fine about this fine china set. If I had never seen Wedgwood Nantucket pieces before and had nothing to compare this set to, may be I would have liked it (I doubt it though), but I've come to expect a lot more from Wedgwood. This 5-piece setting is not even worth its sale price as Wedgwood's usual quality is simply not there.P.S. I was also very disappointed with the packaging that Amazon used - it was so flimsy it's a miracle these plates and cup didn't arrive shattered to pieces - the box this set arrived in was way too small, nowhere on the box did it say "fragile" and they only included a few air pillow bags, most of them deflated. I had to use my own bubble wrap when repackaging this set to send it back. I've been a loyal Amazon customer for many years and I don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but I'm extremely disappointed with this purchase.

I am very pleased with my Nantucket bone china. I am using it on a daily basis as my "everyday dishes". The basketweave is elegant and the quality is superb, as you would expect from Wedgwood. I have been putting it in the dishwasher on the "normal" setting and it seems to be just fine. I have been admiring this pattern for many years, but held off since I already had a set of bone china. However, I'm thrilled to now be enjoying these at every meal. These pieces just have a great feel to them. They are a perfect fit for our home on the rocky coast of Maine! The price on Amazon was excellent. They shipped very quickly. The packaging was great- eight place settings and nothing broken. I am looking forward to adding some serving pieces to this collection. Our family will be enjoying these for many years to come.

This is a lovely covered vegetable dish from Wedgwood. It matches the Nantucket Basket place settings and it is microwave safe. The dish and cover were shipped quickly and expertly packed.
