Croyden House Dumpling or Matzo Ball Mix, 4.5 Ounce (Pack of 4)

OMG! I have never made matzo ball soup before and finally thought I'd give it a try. This mix was so easy to use - just add (2) eggs and 1/4 c. vegetable oil to the mix and stir together. Refrigerate the batter for 5 minutes and then gently shape it into a ball. The mix says it makes (16) matzo balls but I chose to make larger ones. I mixed up (2) boxes with (4) eggs and 1/2 c. vegetable oil and was able to make (11) larger-sized matzo balls (like my local deli serves up). Mathematically, they came out to 65 calories per matzo ball. The only thing I didn't know ahead of time was that the matzo balls would plump when cooked on a low, gentle boil, but I will remember that for next time! For anyone who thinks they could never make matzo ball soup, I would tell them that they are wrong! This was easy peasy, nice and easy, to whip up! I then served the matzo balls with boxed chick stock to which I added some diced carrots and celery. Yeah, I know the broth is usually served up plain, but my other half needs a little bit more than just the matzo balls and broth to fill him up. I have already added another set of these mixes to my Amazon cart, because I definitely will not want to run out of this wonderful mix!!! Do yourself a favor and definitely try this brand! It was absolutely easy to prepare and extremely delicious!!!

Easy to make, good taste, I would prefer the balls to be more sturdy. Have to put more matzo in the recipe to make the balls hold their shape and not explode,
