Awesome versatile magnifying glass
This item turned out way better than expected! The led's surrounding the magnifying glass are very bright and illuminate whatever is under it perfectly. Too bad you can't change the color temperature and you can't dim it. It has only one button to press. Press once and the led's surrounding the magnifying glass turn on. A second press and a dedicated led for the small 40X lens lights that spot nicely. A third press of the button and 2 small UV led's light up under the 30X magnifying glass, supposedly to inspect documents and currency bills.Being able to stand on its own makes it way better than a standard hand held magnifying glass. It's a tiny bit bulky, but it's fine for the size of the lens. It's perfect for my use in soldering projects. As far as powering the unit, you can use 3 AAA batteries, but I avoid using them whenever possible. Too many times during those periods that you don't use a device and don't remove the battery, you end up with corroded battery terminals from battery leakage. I have an old 5700 Mah portable cell phone battery that used to be sufficient to charge up my cell phone a long time ago. I was about to toss it out when I realized I could use it to power the magnifying glass. The battery is only 3.5 inches long, so it's not bulky or heavy. I now have a new use for this battery! Despite the led's being so bright, I charged the battery only once and I've used the magnifying glass several times and for long durations, and the battery status still shows 4 dots, so it's a great way to make this magnifying glass very portable without looking for an AC outlet and an adapter or running out of batteries. Very happy with this purchase!

Convenient, Well-Constructed, Attractive
This is a wonderful tool for use with my hobby of raising and releasing monarch butterflies! It allows me to easily spot on a leaf and view the eggs and caterpillars and their details. The magnifier and light brightness is just right! I waa pleasantly surprised at its quality and value, and I plan to purchase more as gifts. The large-sized, lit magnifier is very easy to hold or use as a stand-up viewer, and it is very sturdily constructed. The convenient option of being able to plug it in through a USB cord or to use it battery-operated is very handy; I can tuck it into my tool kit or tool belt to use in the garden or I can plug it in near the table indoors. There are two light brightness choices with the easy click of the button. It would make a nifty gift for any nature-lover - even an inquisitive child in order to encourage further curiousity and exploration, due to its durability, large size, and cheery, attractive appearance. It would also make an excellent gift for an elderly person or someone with weak vision; the handy size and color make it less likely to be misplaced.

Very happy overall
This is a handy & useful unit. It has a few applications, so those depend on what you need? I mostly like it for the lights. I can turn it on & add more light to the area that I'm working on. I mostly use this for my 3D prints.Sometimes I want a little more light to see the finer details. Whether I'm painting or chasing away random threads. Seeing it has a bottom, it can stand alone. You don't need to use the lens (glass). It also has some other settings for the level or type of illumination. It uses three AAA batteries & the rechargeable ones work very well. I plug it in to one of my handy power packs. It is nice & bright. Which is what I like.I have use the lens a few times, converting images to 3D objects. This way there isn't as much shadowing as with a phone camera. The lens gets scratched easily, as most do. You may want it in a case or print one out. Mostly I leave it handy or shove it into one of the many containers I have for my desktop tools.I wanted to give it a little while before putting up this review, as I wanted to see if it died early or not. So far, so good! If you're in the market for one of these, this is a very good one to get. All 5 stars are earned for it. Good job!

A very good value and this serves me well!
No complaints at all. I like the magnification, ways to vary the application, brightness options and size. This serves me very well for my needs and I liked the price too. Good purchase!Update. I'm still very pleased with this item. It serves me well. My advice would be to double-check to make sure the light selections are ALL off before putting it down. The last option is not too bright (it's small) so you might miss the last option being turned off, thus wearing out batteries quickly. Good thing I use rechargeables!!! Good item otherwise. Donated my old magnifier to our town swap meet. Keeping this one! đ

Happy, then disappointed in USB connection
I was excited about this product as I have low vision and depend on lighted magnifying glasses. I love that it can be used hands free and has 4 light options. Most of all, I looked forward to using the USB connection so I would not go through so many batteries. Unfortunately, after about a month the connection became erratic. Sometimes I can make it work by unplugging then plugging back in or rotating the connection on the device, but not always. Very frustrating! Perhaps it would work better with a USB connection to the light like I use for my Android devices. This would also alleviate taking so many cables when traveling or even taking the magnifier to a different location at home.

Great MULTIFUNCTION HANDHELD MAGNIFIER!
The media could not be loaded. Update: the light that I was saying it was a âUV lightâ is not a UV light! My mistake! Itâs just 1 led light but it did appear as a UV light at first. First of all this is a great bang for your buck! Nicely priced and feels well made. It does not come with batteries but it does come with a usb cable to connect to a power source. Itâs nice and bright making it easy to see in a dark environment. Super easy to use with adjusting light and magnification. It pulls low power as seen in the video it only consumes 1 watt on the highest setting. The lowest one doesnât even register on the drawing power display. Highly recommend this magnifier!
