Q: Are these a solid color all the way through? I need to cut them and want to know if the edges will be the same color as the top.

They look like the color would go all the way through. But you would lose the beveled edge. But I have not cut one to be sure.

Q: Are you able to use regular push pins ?

Regular-sized pushpins and thumbtacks work fine. Large-sized pushpins work but they don’t push in all the way because the board isn’t quite thick enough.
