The box that the knife came in says that it's made in China. But, I'll tell you that "A Lot" of affordable knives are made there. It's actually the best knife that I've ever owned. I use it for work around our farm, and it cuts bags of chicken and horse feed with no problem. It also cuts the baleing twine for our bales of hay with ease. I can't carry the knife off of the farm because it might be to big for a California EDC knife. But in the 3 or so months that I've had this knife, I've never had to sharpen it yet. It holds an edge beautifully. The more that I use it, the easier it got to flip open, and self close once you get past the safety spot that most knives like this have. You will live this knife. I sure do.

Q: Is the pocket clip switchable for left hand carry?

No. It isn't switchable. It's just got the 2 holes for a right pocket carry with the blade to the safe side of the pants. You could put it in other pocket but might slice your hand on open blade.
