Nice balance of retro style and performance
I bought this to use at car shows where I take my Studebaker car. I connect my iPod to it to play music from that era through the external source input which works great. The color matches my Studebaker car. The sound quality is good. The construction is solid, not cheap. The “Studebake” logo could be more prominent. Th internal A/C adapter with concealable power cord are a plus. Features I would like would include: an FM band, external DC power input (preferably suitable for plugging into a car 12V source or a USB power source) and stereo capability, so long as it did not detract from the retro look. But none of these desired additional features takes away from the radio. It is a fine balance between the retro styling and functionality. The unit took a long time to arrive. But I chose free ground shipping and that is a function of Amazon, not the product, and it can take much less time if faster delivery is paid for. Overall, I am satisfied with this product and recommend it for someone that wants a simple radio with its particular retro style.

Great sound from this retro radio speaker
Sound quality is great even when it's only one speaker. I plug my MP3 player in and enjoy the convenience of the big handle so I can transport it around my home. Excellent product I would recommend. The design throws you back to the 1950s which is what lured me in the first place. I'm ready to put in a second order as my daughter requested I get one for her too. Radio tuning is good and the antenne helps with fine-tuning into the stations. I'm really happy with this purchase. I did do one thing to improve upon it. I added a small strip of velcro (the rough side) to the volume button to make turning it easier on the finger. Without it, you find yourself having to hold tight to the button to turn it on or adjust volume.

Great radio for those of us who grew up with transistor radios.
This radio is designed like the transistor radios of 40-50 years ago. While it really doesn't use transistors, it is designed to look and operate like one. This is not a stereo radio. It has one speaker and is just fine for AM talk / news radio listening. If you don't mind how FM radio sounded 40-50 years ago, then this radio is a decent product. The only drawback is that the volume knob is very small and may be difficult to grasp if you have large fingers or arthritis. The volume level at 1 1/2 - 2 is adequate for listening in a room with normal ambient noise. I had a digital radio that required 3 AA batteries to operate. If I left the radio on AM talk radio at a comfortable listening level, the batteries would be dead within 72 hours of play. This radio uses 4 C batteries (It also has an electric cord should you prefer to use AC), I have had this radio playing 16-20 hours per day for over one week and the batteries are still going strong. I am pleased with this purchase.

20 Bucks well spent, unless,,,,,
A Cool Radio for about the cost of lunch ? Yup !Alot of competition out there, but if you like the look and live within about 50 miles of your favorite radio stations, you will enjoy it. This is not a DX-ing radio. It is a cool looking plastic radio that sounds ok. I am a radio geek and have tons to compare it to regarding pulling a station and how it sounds. I rate it as,,,,,,,Sound 6/10,,,Appearance/Finish 9/10,,,Price 9/10,,,,,,ease of operation 7/10 (due to smooth knob.)Other manufactures tend to do the same thing with smooth knobs. It sure would be a pain, but keep a piece of balloon-type rubber around would make it easier. But, that would spoil the simplicity, but WOULD help with a tough station.Sound is ok, but whatever I say here, remember we are talking about a $20 radio, so we need not compare it to a $100+ radio. From the outside, fit/finish is very nice.My Only Real Complaint: is my dial pointer is really hard to see. To the maker, choose a brighter red color so we can see it better. I am 66, but carry good vision with no eye wear. It is just hard to spot. While tuning,,,,,try keeping two fingers behind the radio. It helps when tuning, as does a piece of rubber. For me, it is a keeper, but will spend most of it's life doing kitchen duty. Constant tuning would get old. Too soon to see how long a set of C Cell Batteries will last. This is the best $20 table top radio I have tried so far. Others failed of poor performance and cheap build/finish. This company did very wellChange the knob and pointer issue and I'll raise all my ratings a full point. I recommend it.

2 1/2 months operating window for this radio!
Radio ordered and received in December. In mid February, the radio completely died – – did not operate with either batteries or electrical input. I am told return window closed January 31, Therefore I would assume that if this product last only 2 1/2 months, This is a sufficient operating window for this radio. I am very disappointed

So happy - I bought 2!
I love this radio so much I bought another one after the teal arrived!! It's small which makes it easily portable with the handle - you can use (4) C batteries or plug it in (a feature I really like is that the cord folds up into the back of the radio if you want to hide it while using the battery feature. I get alot of stations - the dial is very easily marked for AM & FM and the on/off knob is also the volume so you have two knobs, that's it. The AM/FM switch is on the side. The sound is also good. I believe there is a headphone jack on the side. The teal is really pretty and unique, and I also have the black/gold which is also nice looking. I really couldn't be happier with this radio - it's exactly what I wanted (a bathroom radio for morning news and a desk radio - nothing fancy - for background noise at work). If you are looking for a simple, good looking and not bulky radio, this is absolutely perfect!

Timeless but better built
Not an old car. Rated best in Wirecutter. Volume knob hard to turn but, other than that, works great for listening to the Dodgers beat the Yankees in the World Series, tuning in your favorite Stevie Wonder classic, getting an on-scene report about flooding in Orange County, and picking up St. George on a clear night. All of which I would have done when I had the car. But, now, without the car. Not a car.
