I think so. My dog jumps on me often and has left nail marks on mine that I can't get off by washing with a cloth. Treatment may have helped.

I think it is because of something in the product material. Read further down and see materials used to make bag and it should tell you why it has Ca, Prop warning. I hope this might answer your question.

It’s great quality and strong! Hadn’t scratched up yet. The tote Bag with coin purse is a good size, holds my tablet, phone and other small stuff. I’ve only had it a week now. I bought it for every day use while I take mass transportation in and around NYC.
