Hate for it to go like this, but the bags were very cheap quality, right when i opened the bag it ripped in a few different spots so I thought it may be a defect so i tried another one and the same thing happened.

I want to like these bags. I mean I do like the bags, but I’m confused. Are they home compostable or are we being duped with wording? I posted pictures so you can see what I mean. It has a symbol that’s stars “home” so I’m gonna assume they’re home compostable in my backyard compost. There’s also the industrial facility compostable symbol. Again, I’m gonna assume we can compost either way since there’s both symbols on them. If she m wrong will someone please point it out and clear this up. I love the texture of the bags, sturdiness is good. Unless you’re my husband and you tho k you can jam double the normal amount of trash in one and then throw it down the driveway.🤨 I’m able to clean a huge indoor rabbit cage out with a full 50 liter of carefresh, Bunny pee and poop without it ripping while carrying g it down the stairs and out to the trash. I’m gonna put a few in my compost pile and see what happens in a few months. I’ll update.

The Solid Waste Management Facility in Delaware County, NY has a very enlightened vision for waste management. We have an industrial composter that runs 24/7/365. One of the worst things, because they can’t be composted, are plastic garbage bags. They get wrapped around the mechanism of the composter. Plastic bags have to go into the permanent waste cells and won’t go away for 1,000 years. I’ve started using compostable bags for all household garbage. We can recycle mixed paper, plastic #1 and 2, aluminum, glass, and newspaper and all food waste goes to the composter. Household waste that can’t be recycled or composted has to go to the cells. We have about 10 years left until the cells are full and we have to find another country to take our garbage. There aren’t any countries who want our garbage. That leaves space and the ocean. Those aren’t viable either. Start using compostable bags and don’t buy plastic that can’t be recycled. Learn about your own landfill. Find out what’s going on. There is no Planet B.

Good bags, and the size works for small garbage bins while the 3-gallon ones really don't. There's no mention of them being cornstarch based, etc., or whether they're free of petroleum based plastic and that concerns me.
