I used two of these as a means to control the blowers on my fog setup last Halloween.
I used two of these as a means to control the blowers on my fog setup last Halloween. They did a fantastic job of regulating the blower speed. I mounted them inside a wather tight box for protection. Conection were super easy and they worked flawlesly.

Works great. gives smooth speed control of DC motor.
Nothing wrong with this! Its a PWM speed controller so it enables you to control the speed of these little DC gear motors smoothly. I used one on a DIY motorized camera slider/dolly to get the slider moving at the exact right speed and another on a turntable - both worked great.If you want a small 12v motor with speed control then this takes care of the speed control part. The motors I used with it are both the "HOSSEN® 30RPM Mini Gear Box Electric Motor 12V DC 37MM High Torque", and the "RioRand® DC 12V 0.07A 3.5RPM High Torque Gear Box Electric Motor 37mm". Both of these motors are on Amazon as well, so for the price I think its a good deal to get something motorized. They both ship from the USA and arrived fast, so just watch out for the ones that ship from "overseas" that take weeks to arrive - if you are concerned about getting it soon.There's no instructions with it, but there are 4 screw terminals to attach the wires - 2 for the power supply and 2 go to the motor, and once you connect them you have speed control of the motor. One thing worth noting - the screw terminals are not clearly marked when you are looking at it from the angle shown in the image above, but if you see where the screw terminals are and then turn the board upside down you will see it is written on the reverse side under each terminal. If you are going to screw it down before you attach wires its worth writing down which wire goes where as you won't be able to see it once the board is screwed down!Summary, good product for the price.

Had to figure out a way to mount this
Works well to turn down the 12 volt fans on our fireplace, which crank out great volumes of hot air, but are pretty loud, so I added this to be able to turn them down when the fire's not real hot. Only challenge was figuring out a way to mount this device in an electrical box. It would have been nice if it came with a simple cover to protect the electronics.

Two Stars
I had a lot of anticipation for this controller and so I purchased a second one shortly after I installed the first one. That’s apparently when things went wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I know that coincidence can play a big role in the online purchase game. So I was optimistic when the first controller started to act up....quite a bit. I used to joke that it had a demon of the cyber spasms, as it would take off...unprovoked or touched, to full power!!! And look out!That’s when a friend of mine who builds circuit boards and such, offered his evaluation .What he found was grounding issues throughout the unit and micro fractures on the board itself. Upon further review and inspections of the new unit that arrived... the same type of issues were found. So I requested a refund or replacement and have heard nothing. My friend suggested that the damage to both units may have come from the shipping process. So there’s always that.Overall.... one star for this product which not only reflects the poorly crafted item but also points out the seemingly lack of care when it comes to processing and shipping of this item to say nothing of the lack of response and customer service, bad form I say .... bad form indeed!! There are many other items like this available to purchase. Take your time and research all reviews. Not just the good ones .Thanks for reading !

A great little gem
Wish I knew about this a few years ago. I have several halloween items that are animated using windshield motors. Finding the right power supply to run them at lower speeds can be challenging .With this in the circuit you can drop the RPM down to a crawl. I first checked amperage draw on a pirates ship wheel and it was pulling about 1.5 amps but moving a bit too fast t be realistic, I knew I was in the safe amperage range. I hooked tthis little guy up and it ran for hours at a time and barely got warm. No need to look for 3v or 5v power supplies any more, just hook this up the the 12V line on a PC power supply (or any other 12v source with plenty of amps) and you now have a completely variable speed motor. I'm ordering more right now! Perhaps the only downfall is that it won't operate under 12V, I tried it. There are some others out there rated for lower voltage, I might try them. As others have mentioned there are absolutely no instructions, and the markings for Power in/out and Motor in/out are printed very small on the circuit board. Take your time and be careful.

Not very variable
Running a 12volt muffin fan, 90% of the reastsat does nothing, 0 to full speed in 10% of a turn. Kind of stuck at this point

Works great
I did my research to see what I could use to make a heat troller for my heated gear. I ended buying this component. I ran the wires from my motorcycle battery (with an inline fuse seperate from the one shown) to the unit and from the unit to my heated gloves. This controls the temperature just like a regular heat troller from 70 bucks. I boxed it in a container I had laying around the house and mounted discretly on my bike. A little silicon to make it water tight and of I go. When I didn't have this I only used a toggle switch to turn my gloves on and off. This got annoying. My gloves were either too hot or just off. On cold days around 45 degrees going around 60mph a quarter to half power is all I need. I still use a toggle switch to disconnect the unit from the battery becuase to make sure there isn't a parasitic draw. I could have wired it to the ignition but I don't know I will do that since it is getting warmer. It's durable and works as expected.
