Sailor 10-8086-620 Fountain Pen, Ebonite Sculpture Fountain Pen, Luminous Bold

This is a beautiful pen. Capped is most imposing, but in the hand is absolutely beautiful. It may take some getting used to, please consider that its size unpposted is most confortable and better than regular size pens posted. The nib is flauless, might be a bit small for the size of the pen but again, some of my larger pens have a similar nib (Iguess is about a size 6). The proportion between nib size and the body is almost the same as in the MIa Carissima. The KOP nib in this pens would be fantastic, although the cost of the nib might be higher than what I paid for this pen. Understanding the purpose of this pen permits it to be admired as a work of art. Simply elegant.

The Sailor Ebonite Sculpture pens are extraordinary works of art. I had another of the series and liked it so much I bought this one. The pen is very large. I has a very functional roll stop but no clip. It is a C/C filler. It does not post but is very well balanced for comfortable writing. Sailor's 21K nibs are excellent, but one should be aware they are a bit toothy. My one negative comment is that these pens come with limited nib choices. I prefer Sailor's Zoom or Music nibs as a basis for a custom cursive italic grind. I swapped the Fine nib that the pen came with for a Music nib from a Sailor 1911.The photo compares a Sailor Ebonite Sculpture to a Pelikan M800 and a Sailor King of Pen.
