Dramm 12625 5/8-Inch Hose Protector

buy a hose protector at a home warehouse store and you'll get a cheap hose with lousy connectors that will blow out under pressure in the first year or two. I use them to mount my lawn watering timers and so the water is 'on' 24/7 and feeding the timers and their sprinklers. This hose protector costs twice as much as the cheap knockoff but will probably last a lifetime. Is a bargain price worth the risk when a hose blowout while you are away will send hundreds of gallons of water into the garden and leave you with a huge water bill? All components are solid and their connections are equally well engineered.

Connection from house to hose much easier with no leaks. Great for older hands.

This hose protector is built well and functions very well. Keeps hose from kinking at the faucet. I like Dramm's bright colors.

While I REALLY like the Dramm hoses, which are well-made, durable, not prone to kinking, I purchased the hose protector, thinking it would minimize stress on the hose at the spigot. While the hose worked perfectly, the hose protector did not, leaking at both ends, with the problem appearing to stem from the flange applied to the hose. As the leak was something I could not afford in the area where the hose was being used, I could not use it.

Product is has high quality brass fittings. My application was to get a short extension to bring the hose bib connection away from the brick wall which constantly bruised my knuckles when I changes hoses around. (It's a personal thing... could have chosen to have a hose splitter, but this is better for us.) This offers excellent machining and great fit on hose bib and the other end for the hose. May be a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent.

The item leaks if there is any backpressure on the hose (example, spray nozzle at the end or any hose shutfoff device). The rubber seal is not at fault - the leak occurs in between the coupler that you turn and the brass shaft. Not fixable.

Used as a replacement for a factory attached hose protector to a 125' garden hose from Sam's Club. The factory attached protector cut threw the hose after many use of use but the hose itself was in still good. I did have to send the first Dramm Hose Protector back as it leaked at both ends from the start. (Other users have had this same issue) Dramm & Amazon replaced without charge! I've used this one about 3 weeks now with no issues.The great thing about this product is that it is made in the USA, keeping Americans working!

I bought this Dramm Hose Protector along with the new hose for my home. After 20 plus years the old hose had developed a split about 4 to 6 inches below the downword facing faucet that it was attached to which helped to create a tight bend when wrapped around the hose hanger. The spring on this hose protector makes a larger bend radius and should help in protecting my new hose so as to last as long or longer. "I Hope"!!!
