Brilliant for gardeners
Used with a cordless drill with a reverse function (essential). It is very robust and I have used it to make pilot holes for wooded stakes and to till clay soil. A reversible drill is necessary because it can pull itself into the ground if it threads onto a stone or root. This is a great labour saver for anybody with limited gardening energy - better a dibber for planting bulbs any day.The HEX shaft is also an important feature because the torque is very high and the Auger does not slip in the chuck.
