Great Songbook for Beginner-Intermediate
I purchased this book a couple of years ago after 2-3 months of lessons. I still enjoy it. At first, there were only 2-3 songs I could play. I can now play most of the songs, but there are still some solos and more challenging songs I have not yet mastered. If you're a beginner, look at this as something to accompany you on your learning journey. Don't expect to be able to play every song right away, but you'll find that once you can play the easiest ones, a few more will start to look manageable.I've spent many hours enjoying songs from this book. I've brought it to guitar lessons and had my instructor help me with some of the more challenging parts. I'm very satisfied with this book. A couple of my favorites are Margaritaville and Peaceful Easy Feeling. Before buying this - learn to play a few simple chords (A, Am, C, D, E, Em, G) and you'll find plenty of songs you can play with those chords. If you don't know some basic chords, you might get frustrated. Scan through the book and try to pick songs that have at most 1-2 new chords for you to learn. Songs are organized alphabetically - not in order of difficulty, so if you start at the beginning or start with your favorite song, you might be frustrated as a beginner.

Easy to read music
You get what it says. Easy to read music. I am not a music talent myself, just learning now in my later years and this does the trick. I find it simple to follow and I am learning to read music and chords (same thing kinda?) lol, I am self learning a lot from the book with these yummy songs! I love music so very much.

Good songs, No Tab
I actually own this book. I am a beginner, and was looking for a book of more engaging songs that the usual campfire fare, that I could actually play. The selection in this collection is pretty good. A number of them seem to have chords that are rather difficult to play (at least for me). But there are also some that are quite approachable for a beginner. Also, if you substitute easier-to-finger chords for some of the more exotic variations listed, you can still play. The chord boxes are shown right above the musical staff, which is also very helpful for a beginner. My only complaint is that there is no Tablature. I would have loved to try out the riffs in some very familiar songs, but I don't read music.

Fun playing songs in this Songbook!
Recently took up playing the acoustic guitar again after many years absence and mainly focusing on songs easy to play. This book has a good selection of songs and the chord patterns are for the most part not difficult to play. Have enjoyed playing some tunes from this book and getting better with practice! :)

A good variety of songs, but hard to read.
I'd say that this book is a step up from beginner. It's much more than just playing chords, and sometimes it seems like the notes go along with the singing moreso than they do the actual guitar strumming. These songs have been much easier to play when you play along with the actual song. Make sure you have a capo, as you will need it for some of these songs.

Great Songs and Good Music
This is a great music book from a lot of great artists and songs. If you read music and play from or sing from the lyrics I would say this is a good one. I have enjoyed just reading through the songs that are included.

Good book for first timers
Good book for first timers! That is what I bought it for! But be aware it won't teach you all the details it takes to make a song sound like the original, that's where youtube comes in! This book and youtube together will make a great match for you, they did for me!
