Techniques for mature thining
Author Schuster describes processes and techniques used by Socrates (as recorded by Zenophon and Plato) to challenge our approaches to thinking so that we can continue to grow and develop as mature human beings, capable of better knowing ourselves and all the issues with which we deal in life. These suggestions were helpful to me.

great thoughts - on many levels
As a lawyer and law professor, I am familiar with the Socratic method - but there is so much more to thinking something through in the Socratic way. This is a great little handbook for all those who want to practice better and deeper thinking. My rating lost a star for the internal layout.

Incredible!
An immersive read about Socrates and his special way of asking questions. The book starts as if Socrates himself told his own story, peppered with thought provoking wisdom here and there. Then the book goes on talking about Socrates' life and philosophy based on the people who actually wrote about him, Plato, Aristotle, and others. Then the Socratic method itself is discussed and the final chapters are hands on dialogues and very practical examples on how to apply all that we learned. I liked this book, I feel that I learned a lot.

Question everything
Although this book is rather small, the small teachings that scratch the surface of not only Socrates but the Socratic method is beyond what I had imagined being as though I had zero knowledge going into it.Reflecting back you could give the entire book away but putting “question everything” on the front of the book but the saying seems so simple until you actually read the book itself and you’ll begin to understand in a complex manner the true value this book has to offer.

Fascinating!
Remarkably simple and wise. Organized and precise and really interesting. Should be required reading for all humans.

Enjoyable
This book is thought-provoking. I like the way they progress through the book; first you Socrates and his way of thinking, then you learn about his life from other people who wrote about him, and then you learn about his life lessons and his philosophy.

Socrates for the self-help section.
As the author points out, this is not a book devoted to the 'boring details' of philosophy. The first chapter gives us a superficial presentation of the Socratic method that highlights 3 characteristics: 1) Socrates believed that truth could be reached by means of a good definition, 2) a good definition must be clear and distinguishable, and 3) the Socratic method seeks to approach a good definition by means of a series of questions in a dialogue. The Socratic method therefore consists of developing a series of critical questions with our interlocutors, in order to find better definitions and approach the truth. The following chapters attempt to apply this notion to various aspects of modern life, such as social relationships, personal mental health and good leadership habits. This book may be of interest to readers of management or self-help books. The figure of Socrates and his method functions here as a literary device to convey some common sense notions that are well established in contemporary management theory. If you are looking for a historical or theoretical introduction to Socrates' ideas, this is not the book for you.
