Genuine Mopar P5155284AB Shifter

This is a great shift handle. I didn't have the money to upgrade the entire mechanism, but this did provide a noticeable improvement over the stock pistol grip. It has a shorter throw and stance, so I find shifting to be faster/easier. It also is a nicer looking unit than stock (in my opinion). It is more sensitive to temperature, so it does get hot in summer and cold in winter when first using. I've purchased a sunshade which will eliminate the issue over the summer. Fast installation on my 2009 Challenger SRT 8. Everything is done from inside the car - no need to jack the car up and go under it.I also believe that this is the shifter used on the Hellcat, so what else needs to be said!

Listen, alot of people saying "it came in a paper towel". Yes it did, however it looks really nice, is solid and shifting feels so good to shift vs the pistol grip which was bulky and in my opinion sometimes just not comfortable whereas this is easy grip, can rest your hand on it and you feel better control in shifting. Everything is preference but if you like that, you will enjoy three product. Very happy with it.

Quality service quality part

As several of the other purchasers mentioned, the item arrived in a sealed Mopar box. However, inside the box was the shifter wrapped in a paper towel. A little odd, but, cosmetically, the unit was sound. No visible damage aside from some sticker residue on the shaft. Install took all but 5 min. once the boot fastner was removed from the OEM shifter. The new shifts are very much noticeable when compared to the original pistol grip (they feel shorter and tighter). Particularly when pulling down into 2nd and 4th gears. However, I wouldn't go as far as to say the difference is leaps and bounds better by any means. Still, if you want a shorter shift and don't want to pay the Hurst or Barton prices... this is definitely a nice compromise for ~ $300-$400 less. And it adds a nice Mopar branding to the cabin. If you are hesitant about purchasing one, I'd say go for it if the lower price speaks to you. If you have your heart and mind set on getting a Barton or Hurst shifter though, i'd suggest skipping this one.

Great shifter. Since it's shorter than the factory shift lever, it seems to make the throws shorter. Looks absolutely beautiful and feels great in hand. Only downside is that, since it's aluminum, it's very quick to become cool (cold) in cooler temps and hot (almost burning-hot) in higher temps. If you park in direct sunlight in the summer, be prepared for this shifter to be almost burning-hot to the touch; and it's almost cold as ice in the winter.

Awesome shifter, the pistol shifter that came with the car was horrible trash. I love the new one!Makes the car much easier to shift. It's metal and gets hot in the sun so I throw a black hand towel over it when I park in the heat
