HD Clear vs HP260 vs EZ Start
I bought all three of these Duck brand tapes for a move, and they are quite a bit different from one another.HD Clear: Thick. Easy enough to tear, once cut has started. Weak stickiness. Good for taping stuff to a wall without pulling the paint off later. Horrible at taping boxes together. Within 24 hours it had literally fallen off, on its own! Do not use for packing boxes unless you want all your belongings to crash onto the floor. Luckily I had taped up my boxes long before moving. Not sure what the HD stands for, but it's not Heavy Duty, I can tell you that. Good for safely taping things to walls, but not much else.HP260: Thick. Strong stickiness. Not easy to tear. This is the stuff you want to tape up your boxes. Will definitely take paint off walls. Will not go anywhere. You will need a knife to open your boxes after using this tape. I would choose this type to mail things with. Actually heavy duty, professional grade stuff.EZ Start: Thin. Like it says, easy to tear. Maybe too easy. Like aggravatingly easy, when you're trying to get a full strip going. Comes with an dispenser for a reason, but still a pain to use. Also not particularly sticky. Good for taping plastic tote lids onto tote bottoms, for a move, say. Not so good for brown cardboard boxes or mailing or anything that needs to be permanent. Weak and thin.HTH.

Trusted Weekly Used Tape For Powerseller See Use Tip!
This is my go-to tape for online packages. It’s thick, it’s clear as glass, and it sticks like a champ. Anyone who ships antiques and collectibles knows when it comes to packing tape you get what you pay for. The dollar store and bargain bin tapes will ruin your labels, come undone and often unravel in transit. This tape goes perfectly over printedlabels for easy scanning of barcodes. My post master can tell when I use this tape as it doesn’t wrinkle or bunch up over the labels. TIP - for those who state this tape doesn’t stick well - you have to press your hands firmly over the tape to ensure it presses against the box. Smooth your hands over the surfaces you covered and for added protection cycle the tape over so the ends stick to other taped areas.

this will be good tape. It's better than stuff like the U ...
For a lot of people, this will be good tape. It's better than stuff like the U Line 2.0mil tape as this tape is 2.6mil. It will also be way better than the economy or basic versions of Duck shipping tape, and better than the basic cheapo tape offered by some industrial suppliers. Where it falls short is if you are used to the Duck EZ Start tape, it's usually found at places like Wal-Mart. The ez start is just as strong, but isnt as grabby or noisy, it's easier to control how much tape you want to pull off and it comes off smoothly. I would also say 3M shipping tape is better than this HD stuff, but 3M is astronomically expensive. Also, if you use the plastic style dispensers that come with some 3M or Duck tape combo kits, the 109 yard rolls of this will not fit those, it will only fit a tape "gun" style dispenser. If you are using one of those, no big deal, and the 109 yards are a better value, plus less having to change rolls of tape in the middle of what you are doing, just be aware, that's the only type of dispenser that the large rolls are compatible with.

I'm as close to a professional packer as you can get, but not a professional packer.
I've had to move a LOT... more than I'd care to admit. I'd used a LOT of tape. You know what I hate? BAD tape... you know the one I'm talking about, you take a strip off it starts whirling in the wind and then next thing you know is all stuck to itself like a bad hair day.THIS tape right here.... is the good stuff. It's THICK, super sticky and easy to use. Who knew that tape makes a difference, but spend a little bit more and buy this tape. I had been using 3M/Scoptch brand up until now, because the moving tape they now sell does NOT stick well. I would pack a box and a couple days later, notice that the tape actually lifted cleanly from the box. This has happened to every single box I packed with the 3M stuff. The Duck Brand.... this is the way to go.

SUPER-FAIL tape falls off the boxes soon after application.
This tape came highly recommended when we began packing for our upcoming move so, two rolls into the package, we find this tape coming loose within a half hour or so.At first, I thought perhaps it was the recycled boxes I started out using but this tape does not discriminate...it is an equal-opportunity failure. Using a roll dispenser and using new boxes. So disappointed.

Works well but not sure what "heavy duty" entails
I like Duck brand packing tape and also like how clear it is compared to most other brands. I haven't had any issues with it and would recommend it to others. I was a little confused about what makes this item "heavy duty", as it seems to be the same thickness and quality as the non heavy duty item. If it is supposed to be a better quality or higher performing product compared to the regular tape, don't worry about getting this over the other. It works just the same and there is no noticeable difference. Only difference that is obvious is that these rolls are twice as thick as the normal rolls because they have twice as much tape on them. But other than the terminology used on this item, it is still the best performing packing tape I've used and I will buy it again when needed. But I will not spend more for heavy duty vs. the standard duty if there is a price difference unrelated to quantity. It just doesn't seem necessary for how it looks, feels, and performs But again, even the regular tape performs great!

Heavy gauge but does not stick well
We purchased this tape because we were moving and had to pack. I have worked in manufacturing plants for most of my career and am familiar with tape guns and tape. I ordered the duck tape based on their name. The tape is nice and thick but does not stick real well. After we apply the tape and press it down firmly on some boxes it starts to peel off. This tape is OK but not sticky enough so the bottom of your boxes might come open.

Do yourself a favor and buy SCOTCH HEAVY DUTY Shipping / Packing tape instead. This one TEARS
It sounded good and cost a couple of dollars less than Scotch. It stated it was heavy duty. It's not. It tore right away and then even tore just from taping around a box. You know how aggravating it is to have tape split in the middle or along the edge? Yeah, it's that constantly from first use.. SCOTCH HEAVY DUTY is awesome, very thick and I went through 3 rolls without a single tear. Don't waste your money...it's not worth the annoyance.
