a bargain among junky competitors
installed easily with high quality fittings. after living with it a while, i'm in love with the plastic materials after worrying it would feel "cheap". hansgrohe isnt stupid. All black painted metal bath fixtures in this price range will peel. the light weight is nice and I'd rather break a plastic wand than put a chip in my tile floor if i drop it. the soft hose wont scratch the valve/trim when it inevitably rubs it...this is a big deal for delicate black finishes. run hot water for 10 minutes and the hose relaxes and drapes correctly.

Great set. Only for a new installation shower.
The media could not be loaded. This is a classy handshower set from hansgrohe, the fine German maker of faucets, drains and various other articles for the kitchen and bath. The set contains a finished elbow which attaches to a supply nipple that must come through the wall of the shower. It would be very difficult to install this unit in an existing shower: not impossible, but probably more trouble than it would be worth for most people.Ironically, I've ordered just the finished elbow for a handshower from hansgrohe in the past and had it cost two-thirds the price of this entire set. This set is a bargain. The finish of the pieces is rich-looking and classy, like all hansgrohe finishes. The hose to the handshower is rubber or plastic, but it is finished on its exterior so that it looks metallic, with the same finish as the real metal pieces that make up the rest of the set. I'm not sure how long the finish on the hose will last, but hansgrohe warrants their materials well. The actual handshower has silicone orifices in a variety of shapes allowing a number of different spray types and patterns.Overall, this is a superb set from hansgrohe.

Works well
I installed this into my shower and I have mixed feelings. This is a boujie fixture and it matches my main showerhead by the same brand.I don't want to be unfair so I should say I've never once been in the rain and felt the urge to grab my shampoo, but apparently someone did and invented this rainfall nonsense. One thing I have learned is that I prefer my showers hot with sand-blasting water pressure. THIS is not THAT. Rainfall is legit gentle kisses of water oh so gentle and soft and slow and light as a feather. That may work for a lot of folks, but that does not work for me. I think rainfall utterly sucks. The main showerhead was stuck right back in it's boujie box (and not included with the handheld part) and my sandblasting Delta is back in it's place. But this attachment has 1 saving grace - it has 2 settings. Soft, kissy rainfall and decent pressure for getting business done. My husband likes the options for reasons unknown (and I think it's because its a hassle to remove now that it's installed), but when I use it, it's on the decent pressure setting.Installation was fairly straightforward, I think he may have had to drill a new hole into the tile because the bar may have been a smidge smaller than our Delta, but it was up and spraying in about 20 minutes. Again we already had existing plumbing for this, he just swapped this in.Anyway, I give this 4 stars not because I like it, but it works as advertised and it gives the experience that it says it does. Its not their fault I hate that experience.
