Straight back and sides
I'd never heard of baking belts before, but I was having really ugly edges to a cake that's part of a wedding cake. So I decided to invest in a set of these and I am thrilled that I did. These work a treat and you will be so surprised by how little cake you need. Not only does it make it nice and flat on the top, the sides look just perfect.

Worked well.
Used on an 8” cake tin with 2 shop bought cake tin liners. Dundee cake came out beautifully flat. Belt did singe inside though. 150C for 1hr 20mims.

This product is fit for purpose and easily cleaned .Represents good value and reduces the fear of uneven baking. more choice for 4 inch width belts would be great.

excellent for baking
I already have some in different depths and find them very good , you get a much flatter top to sponges and the sides are not as dark, so no trimming the top much better for decorating.

Best wrapped in foil
Using these on two tins more than doubles the bake time. Effective but such a waste of electricity. Folding kitchen foil around them to seal the moisture in is fiddly but solves the problem.

Well worth the money, It will pay for itself with the cake you save.
I was a bit sceptical when I read what the baking belt claimed to do, but as I was always producing sponge cakes that tried to imitate the pyramids and having to sacrifice a good quarter of the sponge levelling the cake I decided to try this belt. Although the sponge still rose a bit in the centre it was nowhere near as much as before so I had no need to cut the top off any more. I suppose I could have got a similar result by tying a few layers of brown paper round the outside of the tin which I used to do for my Christmas fruit cakes but this saves all the hassle and there is no danger of it catching fire like the paper could. It pays for itself with the cake you are no longer wasting.

Baked for years and when I changed my oven something was off, this is a game changer for flat and perfect cakes :)

Works well
Verg pleased with this, works exactly how it says, nice flat top to the cake.Just makes sure you follow the instructions I soaked it for about 15 minutes, be prepared for it to singe a little but we'll worth the money.
