Sturdy piece of kit
This is a lovely item. I had read many positive reviews about this item before I made the purchase and yet was still surprised how good quality it is. A heavy, thick chopping board that looks the part and is more than fit for purpose. It's the sort you'd leave out on the worktop purely for the look and definitely has the classic look to it – none of that colour coded plastic stuff that looks straight from a wendy house. I'm not a particularly enthusiastic cook, but appreciate a good quality product, and worst comes to worst, you could always use it to bludgeon a home invader or 'accidentally' euthanise one of the kids hamsters by knocking it off the counter. You're welcome.

Classy product
I bought this for my foodie husband's Christmas present as his last block warper. He loved it (and he's a fussy so and so) it's a great size, feels really sturdy, made of lovely smooth wood and a nicer colour wood than some others I looked at. Would definitely buy again, though I don't think I'll need to for many years

Wonderful piece of work
Brilliant piece of wood, well made and solid feel to the product.Looks great in the kitchen, cutting stuff is a treat, and very easy to upkeep with regular oiling.A very slight irritation is the break in smoothness of the surface by their engraved logo on one side, which is trickier to clean and a collection point for all the juices. We have started avoiding cutting altogether on that side, but if you want to use both sides you have to be very careful around that area. Wish T&G would improve the design in their newer versions of this otherwise excellent product.

Looks Great. Nice price. Recommended
I really like this board. I bought this one and another end-grain in Hevea from T & G. That way I have two different colour boards, 1 for meat and poultry, with the other for everything else. Prevents cross-contamination and possible food poisoning by doing this and it is something I've done for years. Why not five stars? A couple of reasons:1. T&G have stupidly had their logo recessed onto the main chopping surface of the wood. If they really wanted a logo then they should have located it on the side edge of the board so as not to be on the actual chopping surface. It is a great place for little bits of food, germs and bacteria to gather and multiply. It just makes the board harder to keep clean and hygienic (I use a an old toothbrush and a little lemon or lime juice). A really dumb thing for T&G to do and in my book counts as a design flaw. (It is the very same reason I don't by pots with rivets or screws for mounting the handles as it provides a place for germs hide).2. I would have preferred to have had different woods available. Maple or walnut would have been nice as, in my opinion, they are better types of wood for this type of application as the grain heals itself a bit better while still being kind to the knives. What are the advantages of end-grain?An end-grain chopping block keeps the knives much sharper. With the average wooden block a knife will crush against the wood fibres during the chopping the chopping motion. With an end-grain block, the blade will go between the fibres, a bit like cutting into a firm brush. Because of this action the blade will keep it's keenness, meaning it won't dull or lose it sharpness and the knife will also last longer. It also stops the block from being cut in to which in turn keeps it looking nicer for longer too as well as protecting it from damage and the need for resurfacing. It is definitely worth the investment if you have good knives.Cleaning:Whatever you do, don't clean this board immersed in water inside the kitchen sink as you will kill the board. Just wipe down with a soapy wet cloth and immediately dry with a kitchen towel. An occasional wipe down with plain vinegar or lemon juice will also remove any bacterial build-up, but you will have to clean and re-season with food-grade mineral oil afterwards.Bottom line:I love the knots and any other so-called imperfections in the wood as it just adds to the uniqueness of every block. These blocks look superb sitting on the counter with one caveat. They only remain looking good if you regularly treat or season them with food-grade mineral oil. I use Catskill Original Butchers Block Oil for this process.Lovely product. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Really good - great buy.
Really good board. Had it a while now and still in one piece (has not split like other blocks tend to do)The material is very hard so still has a very clean surface. Some mention it slips - I find all board do and its pretty standard to put a cloth underneath. Boards with feet can only be used one way around - so I much prefer this type of board.Really good - great buy.

Looks very good in the kitchen, good thickness and weight for all prep work.
Present for my son, must be good as his wife thought it looked great. Proper graining to lessen impact on knife edges.

Fantastic chopping board
There isn't much to ask for in a board. However, this board just seems to have lasted the first few weeks with ease. It is great to have a large board, and the handles are excellent inclusions.

Expensive and ok quality
I have used this once to dice a couple onions and potatoes and they are already deep cut marks. I'm not entirely bothered by this because at the end of the day it is a cutting board. But the wood doss feels quite soft. Just expected a better quality especially with the price.
