Just what I wanted.
Excellent seat. Just what I wanted. I've used bath benches before, but wanted a seat this time to see what the difference was. I'm very happy. It suits me very well as I can sit to shower, and the seat isn't in the way of my shower curtain. My bath is a lot slimmer than the one I had in the bungalow, but the seat sits on the bath base very well. I'm surprised at the quality, quite honestly. That's the last time I stand to shower and me bones are extremely grateful, lol!

Impressive and usable bat seat.
Bought as I was desperate for a bath whilst in a leg cast (a shower is a bridge too far at present). I have to say that I have been thoroughly impressed with the seat. It is strong and stable, and I have found it comfortable to use with confidence. Fitting it in place is NOT a technical act and only takes a few seconds/minutes - but it is clearly important to adjust it so that it grips the bath sides securely. An impressive product that looks and feels that it will last for years. I can't wait for a proper shower - but meantime a bath will do, and this product has been an excellent purchase.

Sturdy and easy to fit - though build quality is not quite there.
Short versionGood: It is a very sturdy seat, and once it's fitted in place holds very well.Bad: The side-parts are tricky to use to get a secure fit, and wouldn't be good for anyone with dexterity problems.Longer version:Each of the four thick feet has a sizeable sucker pad which really does stick well. The sides of the seat extend outwards and they have rubber ends so you can really crank it into the sides of your bath which makes it very stable. We've now used it several times and it's still just as solid. It comes apart into various bits too which makes cleaning it pretty easy. The reason I dropped a star is that the construction of the wheely-bits that you need to turn to extend the sides to secure it isn't good at all. It's hard to describe, but in order to extend or retract the sides you have to turn the wheels that are embedded in the edges of the seat. These wheels extend above and below the seat (they go through it), and so to turn them you need to push on both the top and bottom at the same time in opposite directions. Added to that there's a lot of wobble in them, they often just push in or move around in such a way that you have to really manipulate them to get them to turn. Not only that, there's two on each side - you have to turn both sets to extend each side - so either you have to manipulate both wheels together or switch back and forth between the two to incrementally push out or retract the side.Although the system does work, the main issue is that it's fiddly and awkward. For anyone with even mild dexterity issues in their hands I imagine this would be almost impossible. Not to mention you need to do this while you're bending over the seat in place in the bath. It's possible we just got one that has some manufacturing issues, but since it does work, and is very sturdy, I assume it's just a case of "best they can do given the budget".

Perfect gift Fathers Day
Fantastic packaging and speedy delivery. Item is easy to assemble. Ideal present for an older person or teenager. Reclaim your independence and ease into the bath in style and comfort. Just sit down and relax in the bath. Turn knob on the side to adjust tightness and loosen item. Remove Bath Seat and store in cupboard. Cheap, affordable and reliable in your time of need. Perfect gift for fathers/mothers day. 8 inches height raised my father above the water in bathtub and made bath time a delight because he was able to sit and then stand to get out, rather than lie horizontal in the bath which made stepping out of the bath a major problem. Medeci Bath Seat - wash your body and step out of the bath with confidence. Powerful seat which holds the weight - large adult. I cannot fault the item in any way, it has given my parents independence, energy and solved their fear of using the bath.

Does the job just fine, but make sure you measure properly.
I bought this item recently for my mother to use following major surgery. The seat is made of plastic and fairly light. It was supplied ready assembled in a double cardboard box, just as well as it took a few hard knocks during delivery but survived undamaged. The supplied instructions were easy to understand. The seat has four suction feet to hold it firmly to the tub, and this worked particularly well on her plastic bathtub. Because the seat is designed to work on the flat part of the tub, you must make sure that it really is on the flattest part. All tubs have a sloped back, the angle varies of course between models, and the slope will dictate how far forward the seat will end up. This proved to be a problem with my Mum's tub which has a less steeply sloped back, meaning that the seat had to be positioned much further forward than she would have liked. This is not a product fault or flaw, and the positioning issue would affect any seat that sits on the flat part of a bathtub. Use your hand if necessary to feel where the tub slope begins when measuring your tub. Also, I bought the 30cm high seat, which with hindsight was a little too tall for a standard tub. It fitted, but I wished I had bought the next size down. Measure carefully. The seat is not just held in place by the suction feet. The whole top can be expanded widthways so that it butts firmly against the side walls of the tub. As bathtubs curve outward near the top, it is important that the top of the seat touches the flat (non-curved) parts of the tub. This is why I mentioned that it's best not to get a seat that's too high. The width adjustment is done by turning two thumb wheels on one side of the top platform. It can be a bit laborious, and I wasn't impressed with the firmness of these wheels. They did not seem to be attached properly to the screw mechanism and kept jumping out of place and jamming. This was a real annoyance when first fitting the seat to the tub, though once done it held very firmly, and if you do need to move or remove the seat you are unlikely to need to move the adjuster wheels more than a few turns so this shouldn't be a big deal. The seat did what what it needed to do, and was okay for the price, but I felt the build quality, particularly those adjusters, needs refinement.
