Great solid saw, does the job
I am building a work bench and need to cut 90 mm x 40 mm pieces of timber at 90 and 45 degrees. I need some accuracy but not anything extreme. I felt that buying a 250 mm power mitre saw would be an overkill and a waste of money. I did not really knew what to expect but this is a great piece of kit and definitely more versatile than a power saw. It is mostly made of metal but the legs are plastic. Still, it feels very solid. It cuts timber quickly and accurately. I tried a 60mm x 40 mm and it cut it cleanly in i think about a minute. This is a great product, safer and more compact than a power saw.

Good purchase for a DIY novice to use.
Complete DIY novice, but very pleased with the results on a one-off skirting job.Had been quoted £1.400 by joiner, but took it nice and slow, triple-checked before cutting and had perfect results.Only complaint is it is a little loose/flexible on the sliding mechanism which doesn’t inspire complete confidence, but once familiar with it, it works well.

A proper mitre saw
Bought this to replace the awful generic blue mitre saw I've used for years, which is still sold under various brands for £40 or so. The difference in quality & precision is evident straight from the box. Read the reviews for the generic blue saws, they're loose and wobbly, so that cut angles vary by 5 degrees. This Stanley is tight, cuts a lovely clean line bang on the required angle. As always with tools, buying the cheapest often leads to regret. I can go to Valhalla in peace now, knowing I finally have a decent mitre saw.

Great hand mitre saw
First hand mitre saw I've bought in 18yrs, Don't think you can go wrong with Stanley, Good value for money, easy to use very sturdy while cutting, nice size, love the pegs to help keep wood in place while cutting making the cuts very accurate.

Good for the price
It works well, for the price and despite the crude blade pitch. On the good side it is cheap and easy to use. it has some design flaws, such as the large gap in the rear support, at the centre, so it's hard to cut small pieces. And the position arrow is 1cm or more from the angle marks so it's hard to line up an exact angle, which in any case is hidden under the saw. But you'd expect to be complimenting a basic device like this with your own vice grips, bits of wood, marker lines and so on. I cut some metal trim to border the roundy bottom of a stairs, to a laminate floor, and it was easy (5, 10 and 20 degree angles).

Its fine but does not slide easily and no instructions provided.
It did a job with care it works fine but has several short comings including an inability ro slide freely or remain totally accurate. For the price I expected much more.
