Great product especially for those with sight/hearing loss
Really good product for anyone, however my reason for purchasing this phone was to enable my Mother to use it even though she has a sight/hearing issue. Am I pleased - am I heck, they are fab-u-lous (to steal a phrase from Mr Craig Revel Horwood). Initially wary, she is now independently able to call anyone required and is also using the phone book feature without issue. The phone is easy to set up, and if like me you get a crackle on line afterwards just unplug everything and re-plug them back in one at a time and you should easily be able to find and resolve the issue.Volume is easy to control - little hint if you are not aware, if someone is a little hard of hearing or you want more than one person to hear the call press the green answer button twice when making or answering the phone. If your hearing is fine it becomes a speaker phone, if your hearing is poor it increases the volume. I use this and the amplify button.I know it is not in full blaring colour but the screen is clear and easy to see and does cease being illuminated when not in use (one less light in the room). The answer phone is very clear and simple to use and I like the option of the block button. So, all in all a great product that I would recommend.

Easy to setup and use. Large clear display/keypad and good sound quality.
We've previously used a Siemens Gigaset system for our home but found that its features were poor quality and difficult to use and having decided not to go down the route of VOIP, we looked around for a simpler DECT system for the four rooms the phones are installed in (we bought a 4th BT4600 handset as we were so pleased with the system). The plus points are that we able to setup and individually name all 4 phones within minutes and there weren't any problems with them connecting themselves to the base unit.Keypad is nice and large and the display clear and easy to read.Sound volume and quality on hands-free are quite good. I don’t have hearing problems so can’t comment as to whether it is good enough for someone who is hearing impaired.Size and weight we found to be ok but the size may be a little large if you have small or weak hands but that's the compromise for big buttons and display characters.Menus are fairly straight forward. Perhaps not perfect, but certainly better than many phones. The two big features of this phone we really like and have found extremely useful.First is the nuisance call blocker. It's simple but we've found it be quite effective in stopping nuisance callers. Quite simply if the callers telephone number isn't in the phone's directory, they will be asked to identify themselves. When you answer the phone, you get to hear what their response was. If you don't trust the caller then you can simply reject the call. Simple but effective enough to put off the spam caller. It won’t stop a robot caller but as a robot system can’t identify itself when asked and it won’t be able to press the # key it’s not going to get very far.Second. At bottom of the handset is the ‘Record’ button. Press it at anytime to record your conversation (records both parties voices).Negatives.This phone doesn’t have any means of transferring data to/from your PC, such as your contacts list. Handy if you want transfer your Outlook contacts or to use your own music files for ring tones.Limited choice of ringtones. The callers telephone number scrolls around the screen making it impossible to read. If the caller isn’t in your phone directory, then at least you can see the area code they’re calling from.As a footnote. Some reviewers have complained about the sound quality and the display. I wonder if they know that there is actually a menu option to adjust the tone and also one for display settings!!!

Extremely effective nuisance call blocker.
This is the fourth set of these phones that I have purchased in recent months. I have purchased one for my elderly mother, one set each for two pensioners that I have been assisting during Covid and this set I purchased for myself. Prior to the purchase of these phones everyone had been receiving multiple nuisance calls on a daily basis (one gentleman had three within ten minutes and was getting afraid to answer the phone), since the purchase of these phones they haven't had any nuisance calls.Setting up the phone was quite easy but took a bit of time (it depends how many telephone numbers you have in your index). Its worth setting up correctly as all numbers you save to your phone and save as VIP can call straight through to your phone. All unrecognised numbers are challenged and require them to give a name before going through to your phone. If they don't leave a name & press the hash key, you never know they even rung.Call Blocking. You can do this when you answer the phone by choosing option 3 or if you have answered the phone and then suddenly realise its a nuisance call, you have a dedicated button you can press.A couple of features that I really like about this phone is:1. When you set-up your contact list within the phone, it shares it between all the other phones you have linked to the base unit. My previous phones I had to set-up my contact list in each individual phone.2. The SLOW PLAY button; There is nothing worse than someone leaving you a contact number to ring them back on but you have to play the message 3 or more times to ensure you get the correct number written down. This phone has the normal PLAY button, which you can use to hear the message at normal speed but it also has a SLOW PLAY button, which slows down the message and makes it easier to write down a number or for some people it makes it easier to understand the message.3. You only require one telephone socket to plug the main base unit into, all others only require a plug socket.PLEASE NOTE: For this phone to work correctly with the Call Blocking system, you must have Caller ID set-up on your phone line. If you haven't got Caller ID on your phone line you can easily have it added by your phone line provider (there might be a slight cost for this).I would highly recommend this phone to others

Clever phones
These are up to BT’s high standard. They are easy to set up and have many useful features, especially call blocking. They are well designed and simple to use. Only moan would be having to look up the internet for instructions. I’d rather pay extra and get a booklet , but this is common practice now. Elderly people prefer a booklet, but phones are great.
