I am so pleased with this. Truly attractive, while being lightweight & cheap!The chest is made of stained plywood as you would expect from the pricetag, but it is genuinely so well put together with such attention to detail, it manages to be genuinely good-looking and most people at a glance need to be told that it's not solid wood. I live in a tony studio apartment and needed somewhere to store/hide my Christmas decorations in plain sight. Works a charm, while doubling as a light coffee table. Be aware though, the plywood means I would be steer clear of putting significant weight on top.I can also see that this would be an ideal toychest for kids, though depending on the age of kid you might want to install a catch to stop the lid slamming down on little fingers.

Very nice box indeed but I will need to make some additions to move from good to great. It needs a chain to stop the lid being opened too far and straining the hinge. It needs some sprung stoppers to stop the lid crashing down on tiny fingers although the leather straps might accidentally serve in this way. The lid top needs strengthening as little children like to climb up and the lid is weak; but easy done by fixing some ply on the inside. Got it for a toddlers birthday and wrapped the presents in gold paper to make a treasure chest - she loved it and our living room is tidier for it. It is very light and very spacious - looks the part and is fairly robust apart from the lid.

Very happy with the item and service that I received. I had reason to contact the seller due to the delivery estimate conflicting with a family event and needed to have the item delivered to a different address. I got a quick and friendly reply and, although I was unable to change my delivery address (due to prompt shipping), I was given advice on how to check on delivery estimates with the delivery company.The item itself is lovely - I was a little worried having read previous reviews that mentioned the box being quite flimsy but I haven't found that at all. It's by no means as sturdy as a solid wooden piece but then it doesn't claim to be, and I believe that the quality is very good for the price.Overall a great purchase and I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a nice looking box for storing light goods such as bedding/towels/toys etc.

Looks pretty nice on the picture, but don't be fooled this is really poor quality. Bought to store my sons toys in post Xmas. The item came quickly and was well packaged. On opening the box was horrified to discover something that looks like it was made by a 13 year old at school!. It's made out of thin MDF and poorly stained which looks patchy. When we opened the box the sides are poorly stapled together, which is already pulling apart even before use. Have seen better quality boxes for LESS money than this. Now having trouble getting a refund for this shoddy product. Avoid, you have been warned!!

Lovely box. Arrived in perfect condition. Very pleased with the style, a nice amount of space.The only issue for me was that with the budget I had I needed a craft box which would store a lot of art crafts and when lifted would be heavy once filled. After I had filled the box, we had to be extra careful when maneuvering it because it felt quite delicate as though it may snap. So I don't store anything on top of it incase it gets damaged, I would prefer a thicker model just to ensure it's strength. Otherwise very good for lighter stuff depending on what you plan to store inside it.

My chest had a big crack on the bottom with part of the slim wood itismade of peeled off, looks like someone glued the stuff together and applied some transparent laquer. I use it to store my wicca supplies and herb jars, candles, a box with crystals, which are quite heavy, so far so good, the bottom did not crack. But the box definitely looks very flimsy. However the design is great.

I never expected a trunk to be self assembly, hence it’s still in the box until I find someone to put it together for me. I re read the specifications and still didn’t see this as needed. I’m going to read again! If I had known I would not have purchased this item.

I absolutely love this. I noticed a few bad reviews on here and I'm glad I ignored. It's used for my jumpers/cardigans/hoodies and it all fits in well. It's very lightweight and looks like a proper pirate trunk. Great value for money for a lovely product and delivery was quick. Only thing I would say against it, is that it is not designed for heavy weight on top.
