Q: Does this set coming with the matching cartridges for each pen?

Yes. Each pen indeed had the matching ink. The ink tint is as bright and comes close to matching the plastic. The ones I received had the cartridges inside the pens. Press them into the nib unit and you're ready to rock.

Q: Does this come with cartridges?

Yes it does, the ink matches the color of the pen.

Q: How do you use it? Do I need to take something out? Shake it?

You have to individually "pop" the cartridges in, leave the pen nib down with cap on, and DO NOT SHAKE

Q: Can I convert it to a highlighter?

I would recommend you google your question. I do not know the answer but a 2 second search brought several hits for you tube videos regarding converting a preppy to a highlighter. I don’t have any desire to do this so I won’t be able to give you details.
