Blond Psyllium Husk - 500g

I’ve been using psyllium for a couple of years now, I find it very helpful with IBS issues - I recommend it as a cure-all for waste elimination: softens constipated stools; bulks up diarrhoea. Take with plenty of water and you only need to start with a third or half a teaspoons so a bag lasts ages - I put it straight into a large jar with the label & use by date. I find it neutral to digestion so it doesn’t upset my system in any way and makes waste easy & painless to pass. Much more preferable to medications such as Dulcolax (which I found quite distressing). Excellent quality & good value.NB: also good for dogs, I believe, as my mates vet recommended it for her little dogAlso, I didn’t know it can be used as an appetite suppressant - tried 1 1/2 teaspoons in water 20mins to an hour before meals and it really worked: didn’t eat so much at meals & didn’t snack in between - only thing is it can irritate your guts if you take too much so you need to experiment to find out what suits you, I’m going down to 1 teaspoon before each meal then one in the evening to curb that awful urge to snack. Am trying konjac tablets too but not finding them as effective.

I have taken Psyllium "powder' for many years although I hated the stale mushroom tastethat the powder had. Anyhow since going on a keto diet I bought these husks as they do not make the baking go purple which is great . Then I tried to have them as a replacement to my regular dose of "Powder" with water. I was amazed this product is tasteless, easier to drink and so much easier to incorporate with water than the powder. OK I do need i little more as its the whole husk and not the ground powder version but I give this top marks and will always buy whether for my baking , bread making and for my digestive system

Exactly as described and as expected (which always makes a nice change!!) mixes well in water and doesn’t get too thick and claggy quickly as I have found with some powdered blends. Am on Keto diet so will also be trying it in baking which is a new one for me. Read in other reviews that it doesn’t go ‘purple’ in baking which was one of the reasons I bought this brand. No-one wants a purple loaf.......!! Thanks for a great product.

Only 4 stars... because 500g last so long. Warning: Psyllium husk is so light, it occupies more space in the cupboard than any other 500g food item. Otherwise, this product is awesome.

Fantastic product, this is the best one I’ve managed to find, I love making my pizza base with this works lovely, doesn’t get slimy sticky like others just works so well and tastes great. Had this one a few times now and will be buying it again!

Nice large print on the packaging so it’s easy to find in my cupboard. Didn’t make my bakes turn purple like some brands do. Very pleased with it.

great value - dont need much - a tablespoon per pint - acts as a thickener to liquids eg soup or orange juice - you can add just before drinking orange juice if you dont want it to get too thick - also thickens up quicker if you add it to hot soup!
