Parker Quink Ballpoint Pen Gel Ink Refills, Medium Tip, Black, 2 Count

I'd heard reviews of gel refills, so bought one. My first impression was that it was like a fountain pen, and I worried that the ink might smudge, like fountain pens can.But an experiment demonstrated that the ink dries very rapidly, and you are extremely unlikely to smudge the writing.The only slight drawback I can think of is that the gel refills leave a slightly broader line than their ballpoint equivalents, so you may have to drop down one level of thickness. Which is OK, unless you were already on fine...

Parker Gel Ink refills are expensive and quite hard to find. I've bought via Amazon in the past, and were disappointed that they were low quality, leaky, imports from India. But decided to give it another go. These are the real thing, made in France for the UK market, complete with the Royal Warrants (not shown on the illustration). Perfect

Great price for two refills. Arrived on packaging I'm not used to so I was a bit apprehensive they were fakes, but perform really well with lovely smooth writing. Still have the crest on the package, it just had Europens written down the side.

When they work, they write smoothly, however, one of the refills lasted around a week before becoming blotchy and intermittent. The other lasted around a fortnight. I don't write a large amount whilst at work, only really notes and results from tests. For anyone writing essays or large amounts, these would become unusable after a few pages of A4.Admittedly, they are still writing, but the quality is terrible, ranging from almost invisible scratching across the page to its full potential. I would not recommend wasting the money on this product. It's a shame, as Parker are supposed to be associated with good quality but affordable writing products. These are most certainly not good quality, nor value for money.

I've just converted from traditional Parker Biro to these... lovely smooth feel and Parker appear to have finally caught up with much cheaper alternatives in the liguid ink ballpoint market
