Q: Is this a drop in for the squire cv jaguar? Also how much better if a bridge is it than the original? Thanks

Yes, this is a drop-in replacement for the CV Jaguar bridge and it is a substantial upgrade. See my full review here on Amazon (titled "Top of the line.") While the CV bridge is pretty nice for the price point of the guitar, it is made out of pot metal. Your strings will simply sound better on this bridge made out of nickel and brass. Also, the CV bridge can have trouble "returning to zero" when using the trem, but this bridge does great. The only thing to note is the thimbles in the CV are not as deep as on the American Pro Jag or Jazzmaster. You can use the existing thimbles on the CV Jag, but you'll need to keep the height adjustment screws on this bridge really low to compensate. Make sure to get yourself a 3/64" Allen key for this bridge because one does not come with it.
