SONAX230.200 Xtreme Wheel Cleaner 'Full Effect' 500ml

Got this to shift some extremely burned on brake dust all over my alloy. This was severely baked on and couldn't even remove it with a knife. This stuff after a few thick coats and a light scrub has removed it completely. For a wheel with normal dirt, brake dust etc This is the only product you'll ever need.

Have always used Wonder Wheels for years given it dissolves through baked on brake dust so well. However, this Sonax product is just as effective and is much easier to use as a spray. Just wet the alloys and spray it on; it changes colour to a dark red colour in less than a minute after which it can be agitated with a brush and then rinsed off. The really stubborn bits will need a second application, but overall this is a lot quicker and easier than Wonder Wheels. Easy 5 star.

Good product removes a lot of brake dust and grime

Highly recommended product for wheels. It helped me make short work of a set of car wheels that were black with baked-on brake dust and dirt (not my wheels, I hasten to add!) and they sparkled afterwards, leaving the owner in awe.Just spray on and leave to work its magic. The particles from the brake discs will turn purple within a few minutes and can be easily rinsed or sprayed away. The toughest dirt may need a little agitation with a brush or cloth, then just rinse and stand back to admire the difference. I will always have a bottle of this in my car washing kit.

Worked really well at getting the iron to separate from the alloy wheels.Washed wheels with hot soapy water then spray this on and leave for about 10mins wash away the grime ,if really bad just repeat.Just be careful and read the safety data online as mine wasn't in English.

Tried this out on heavily stained front wheels of a van I just bought. Stained by the usual asbestos brake dust build up over years and cleaning neglect.One application then I used a green pan scrub with a couple more squirts during the process to keep the solution moist.It took me around an hour per wheel but they now look brand new. Well worth the effort and elbow grease!

As a very keen car detailer i have tried many car wheel cleaners over the decades and can honestly say this is very good at cleaning my alloy wheels, used it sparingly let it sit for a few minutes and agitated with a wheel brush the brake dust did rinse off easily, has a bit of a strange smell though which was slightly off putting so don't spend to much time around the wheel when first spraying it on. Highly recommended from a BMW website so thought i would try glad i did.....

I drive a BMW 4 series, the wheels of which suffer badly from brake dust. Throughout the winter, I'd neglected to wash the car and so as soon as the weather improved, I thought I'd give the car a good going over.The wheels were absolutely thick with brake dust and ingrained iron particles from the discs. However, upon applying this wheel cleaner spray, the thick liquid set to work extracting the dust and iron from the wheels.There's a vast array of similar products available from different manufacturers, but this Sonax wheel cleaner is probably the best I've used. It sprays easily, clings to vertical surfaces well and soon turns the signature red colour of these iron removing cleaners. I didn't have to use any harsh brushes either, using just a soft wheel woolie to gently clean the wheels. However, as they hadn't been cleaned for months, it did take a couple of rinses and re-applications to get them looking like new again.So, would I recommend this wheel cleaner? Yes, absolutely..... It's awesome!
