Thorough review with an update....
I don't write a lot reviews but there are a few things I'd like to say about the litter kwitter...The litter kwitterThe instructions were very easy and clear to follow and the DVD was good if you waned a little bit more information. There are a few things I think worth mentioning though...I have a standard loo and even though the white mount that goes on the loo has clips I found these didn't work as my loo doesn't have a ridge or rim round the outside for the clips to clip onto... Without them however the white mount could move around quite a bit and because I didn't want my cat getting spooked with the movement I just wedged some cardboard in the gap between the loo and the white mount and that seemed to solve this issue. The red stage was very easy for my cat to get used to how ever moving to the orange stage was a bit difficult for my cat (I might just have a very scared cat though lol so you might not have this issue but just in case you do this is how i solved it) she didn't like the big drop from the hole to the loo so what I did was put an old bowl into the loo and placed the red tray on top of the bowl (this was to secure the red tray because the first time I tried this she tried to stand on it while investigating it at first and it moved and freaked her out) with a small bit of litter in and then placed the orange stage like normal into the white mount. This way there it a small drop between the orange stage and the red stage underneath. This meant there was more things for you to move it you only have 1 loo but i thought it definitely worth it to get the end result you want. Once my cat has completely got used to it like this (this is as far as we have got so far with the training) i will remove the red tray and the bowl as she would have got used to her poops dropping through the hole to the water. When she is ready to move to the green stage I won't need to use the bowl like before because she would have got used to the drop so should be a lot easier from then on.I have tried 2 different kinds of flush-able litter. Pettex Pampuss Woodbase Cat Litter 30 Litreby Pettex I'm not sure if I just have a particularly fussy cat but she wasn't keen on this litter at all the pellets were too big for her to move around to how she liked it before she went to the loo and because of the ridges in the litter kwitter you could'nt actually get a lot of the pellets in to the litter kwitter. Flushing this litter was fine except on one occasion the loo did get blocked (it was very easy to unblock though) because the dirty litter just sort of crumbles but in the process of putting the dirty litter into the loo some clean pellets that were in the litter kwitter went in too and they expand with water hence why the loo blocked. The good things about this litter is that it is defiantly value for money and it does have quite a pleasant smell.Cat's Best Öko Plus Cat Litter, 30 L by Cats BestMy cat much preferred this litter as the litter was very small and easy for her to move around. I do love the fact that this litter clumps together so was very easy to see and to remove all dirty litter and not throw a lot of clean litter as well. It was a little more pricey for the same amount of litter but as your cat needs positive experiences with the litter kwitter I personally thought this was the best litter for the job.I hope you find this thorough review helpful as this is all the information I would have liked to have when researching this... All I can say is know your cat and what they might be afraid of and use a lot of positive encouragement, be patient and don't rush though the stages and good luck :)UPDATE..... It has been about a month now and molly doing so well really proud of her, not even a quarter of the way through the bag of litter no more mess or horrid smells just a quick flush I am taking my time with the training but it is so worth it (moving onto the green stage without anything underneath so A LOT easier) I have updated this product from 4 stars to 5.... the niggly issues you might go through to get to the end result far out weighs the hassles you would have with a normal litter tray just wish I did this years ago lolJJT

Works well but overpriced
Good idea in theory but it's way too expensive for what it is! Just cheap moulded plastic that couldn't cost more to make than 50cent a piece. Only purchased as was desperate for an alternative to a litter tray that a dog can get access too and figured that over a lifetime, it would eventually pay for itself in savings on litter.Definitely doesn't work in the time stated. Best to start them on it young, before they get used to a normal litter tray. Use it on the floor for very young kittens before transitioning to placing it on the toilet. Cats don't like change so this is best done young. Mine took to it easily for "number 1" but preferred to do "number 2" on the floor beside it, leading us to backtrack several times, despite not moving to the next step for 1-2months.

Now... if only I could teach her how to flush....
I've now had the litter kwitter for around 5 months, and I didn't want to review it until I'd had enough time to try it with my 4 y/o Siamese. She's a picky little cat, and not really all that bright quite frankly! I really didn't think she would take to the learning curve of a new toilet routine, so I was very sceptical; particularly with regard to suboptimal hygiene around the toilet for any picky humans to discover. Still, after a couple of false starts due to having to travel abroad for work and holidays I had a couple of months to try getting her used to the kit.The first step with the red tray was pretty easy. She was confused by the toilet shaped tray being right next to the human toilet, and kept and coming and meowing at me, but after a while she started using it like her regular tray. The step up to the toilet bowl was a bit tricky. I was impressed that the toilet cover that holds the 3 stage trays fitted so well, as I had imagined it slipping off and having to clean up a nasty feline mess. In fact it's very sturdy, and very easy to keep clean. Where she did slightly miss the red tray, the mess could just be cleaned off with a detergent wet wipe. Only once did anything "escape", and it wasn't a disaster.Moving onto the orange tray after about 3 weeks produced more confused mewling, but the day I went in the bathroom and saw the business in the bottom of the bowl was so good. I gave her lots of praise, and head strokes to give her confidence, and she was soon used to the new method. It was in fact always a bit of giggle in the house to suddenly hear the very human like tinkling in the bowl :)With treats and praise, so she knew she was doing things correctly, I got her to the stage were I just left the white surround on the toilet rim (I peeped to watch her a couple of times and she was struggling to keep her balance without it). Only for a week or 2 though. In fact now, she's perfectly okay with the procedure, and I've removed the surround altogether. Not only that, but I think she seems to appreciate the fact that her business just disappears (underwater). She's so pleased with herself afterwards, she comes to see me shimming her tail straight up in the air and meowing like a proud 6 year old child (well minus the tail...), just to let me know that I'm required to go and do the flush. So for me, my glistening white tile bathroom, my fresh smelling apartment, completely devoid of annoying grains of cat litter underfoot, and my very clean, very happy cat, this product is a revelation. I've even had friends ask to come round and watch her go to the toilet. So many people don't believe me, and my mum just thought it was nonsense. That was until she came to stay for 3 weeks whilst I was holiday, and witnessed the miracle for herself :)

A good idea
This is such a good idea and although initially sceptical, the idea of never buying or emptying litter again was too good to refuse. I have 2 cats and their litter tray is I. The bathroom so this was a good start. Casper got the hang of it pretty quickly and was almost at the toilet bowl. Unfortunately Leon could not cope with the change, used it once after not going g for 2 days, scratched litter all over the floor, complained loudly every time he went into the bathroom and sat in the bath scratching the sides (fortunately he is too fastidious to go anywhere other than his tray). I held out for almost a week, but finally gave in as he was so upset and stopped eating. Once I gave in Casper also returned to the litter tray. If you have one cat I would recommend trying this as am sure with patience it will work with most cats. My only gripe is that it does not feel stable when placed in the toilet bowl, so think the manufacturer needs to provide more clips or think about how it can be made more stable.
