Not exactly the same as the Fender blend (no load) pot but still a good price for the 3 CTS together
This is still a good price for three 250K CTS pots with one being a no load pot (even without the detente).I didn't use these because after I opened the package I found it did not have the detente at the no load position as the fender one does. However the value and audio (vs. linear) taper is the same as Fender sells. I can open up my current pot and scrape away the resistance land at the end to get the same thing as this blend pot if I can accept lack of the detente. But I prefer one with the detente (and a linear taper).Technically speaking when buying a pot specifically sold as a Fender no load (blend) pot it should have a detente which is basically a positive feel at the open position end of rotation as Fender does. However the detente is not required for the pot to function properly and that is what you end up with if you took the trouble to modify your existing tone control. This would only take about 15-30 minutes longer if you are already changing all three pots (and already have the technical skill to replace pots). But if you are spending the money and time changing all three pots anyway I suppose that this kit is well worth it.Many people (like me) prefer a linear (vs' audio) taper blend pot but that boils down to personal taste. I do not remember seeing the FIRST bullet point in the description stating the blend was an audio taper pot but I do see it now on review. Ether it was just updated after my original review or I was temporarily blind. Probably the later. LOL. I didn't know that Fender used an audio taper (they don't state the taper in their parts listing) but after some research I see Fender does in fact use an audio taper pot.
