Absolutely Excellent - and I have a multi-cat household of 9 cats!
This self-cleaning litter box is an absolute God-send in my opinion! My other half bought one himself a few weeks ago which is being used in the hall upstairs as, having 9 cats, were using so much of the regular non-clumping cat litter - about 5-6 large bags a week - it was getting ridiculous (not to mention messy despite having a hooded catlit box) that I decided to buy a second one of these for downstairs too. Honestly, I have never looked back. We have a multi-cat household and they have no trouble using this tray: it did take them a few moments to get used to it, some longer than others, so I sprinkled a very small amount of their existing cat litter (non clumping variety) into this one and that seemed to do the trick. Once one cat had used it, they all had a go!! I have to be honest and say the only one who was a bit reluctant was my Maine Coon as he is a very large boy, and I could do with the litter box being just a bit bigger for him - so perhaps the manufacturer should maybe think about designing one especially for Maine Coons/ larger cats - but that said, he is quite a nervous cat at the best of times, so anything new to him is always something to be treated with suspicion!I have absolutely no regrets buying this - it is just great to get up first thing in the morning and not have to clean out or smell the cat litter tray: of course when they first do their business in it, you get a slight whiff, but once the rake has raked it away into the covered box, that it is .. the smell is gone. The litter granules this tray uses are amazing - they just neutralise the smell of pee or cat poo and they seem to last longer than I imagined they would, and when you work it out price-wise against regular non-clumping litter, it is competitive when divided into monthly cost. And there is no tracking of cat litter outside the tray itself with this.I cannot rate this litter tray highly enough as it has made my life so much easier regarding litter tray cleaning, and the house now smells pleasant all of the time. My cats actually seem happier since these trays have been installed as well; could be because the litter box is always pristine "clean", ready for use and raked free of any cat poo when they want to use it! I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially if your cats are all indoor cats like mine. I wish I had bought one years ago!

Works great, once the poo has been pushed into the containment bit hides most of the smell.
Works great, really impressed. All 3 of my cats use it not problems, even our fussy old girl who only uses a conventional litter tray once before it being too dirty will use it multiple times. When it was just her using it, it lasted just under a week now with all 3 it lasts about 3 days. Which does make it quite expensive.Cleaning the litter is easy, just lift it, put the lid on and put it in a bin bag. The problem is cleaning the mechanism that moves the poo. We’ve also had issue with our kitten (who’s actually 3 now) pressing the button, pooping behind the rake as it’s clearing the litter and watching he freshly laid poop get smooshed up the side as the rake returns. Getting a lid resolved this for us and left us with a slightly less entertained cat.Apart from that our cats are happy with it.

Absolutely awful smell!
I purchased this after several months of reading reviews - mostly positive but negative as well! It is expensive for a cat tray but a great concept. It is also expensive to run but I was willing to pay this based on not having to scoop etc! I have one small 1 year old cat.I really wish it had worked! It smelt absolutely terrible even after a few uses and I mean terrible!I purchased it a few days before we went on holiday for a week. Our cat sitter contacted me after we’d been away only a few days to say the smell was terrible and so bad she could smell it from outside the front of the house before she entered - the tray is situated at the rear of the house! The mechanism had stopped a few times but she was able to sort this out by googling/You Tube.On returning home we replaced the tray immediately because of the overpowering smell - please note the poo was all in the compartment where it should be.The next tray - no problem with mechanism on machine but smell was terrible even after a day’s use. Day 2 my husband (Who has a poor sense of smell!) said can you get it out of the house! I agreed - it was overpowering!I spoke to Amazon at length who were very helpful and at one stage even put me through to Petsafe Customer Services in the US who were also good. This tray is not for me - the smell is shocking and we have one small cat - I cannot see how a tray would last between 20-30 days! The design is not great either. It is quite big with the hood and in very dated 1980’s colours - beige and brown smoked plastic top part! It could do with a design update! The cat litter did trail over the floor too - this was probably better than our normal litter but it was not as stated!Unfortunately my experience makes me fall into the 1 star category! I really wish it had worked. The search continues......
