Caffè Borbone Compostable Pod, Red Coffee Blend - 150 Pads - Compatible with ESE System Paper Pads 44 mm

First time using Caffe Borbone Gold Blend and it won't be the last. What attracted me to it was "Neapolitan" of which I am no stranger. I have been using one of those funny little pots that you put coffee into the top and hot water into the bottom which is then turned upside down. to make the coffee.My problen when I bought my E.S.E. pod machine was finding an equivalent taste. All were mostly too weak. That was until I found Caffe Borbone Gold. The coffee has quite an authentic, Neapolitan taste I was looking for, quite strong but smooth and sweet.I make it as an espresso and add warm milk and hot water to 180ml for a milky Americano which is perfect for me at all hours of the day. But I think the pods will work equally well as a Lungo. As I make it I get quite strong body, milk chocolate and minimum acidity.Just one criticism: The pods don't have the green printing designating it as compostable as illustrated in the product description. But that's something of a mute point because it's the coffee that matters.Overall, highly recommended and a well deserved 5 stars.

Note: I use a Illy ESE espresso machine to brew the coffee.On the positive: the coffee is excellent. I tried both the red and the blu types.Both are great blends, I find the blu on the bitter side of the spectrum in terms of flavour, so it may be not to everybody's taste. The red is a bit more rounded and nutty.Very creamy, and the flow is quite ince and steady, not like the Illy ESE pods that deliver a coffee drop by drop.Considering the price is one of the cheapest one can find, it definitely makes it a winner in my book.On the negative: the individual sleeve is aluminium lined paper, so although is certified "recyclable with paper" by italian standards, may not well be in your council, therefore I'd say the packaging is slightly misleading and removed one star for it

Arrives quickly. Awaiting the delivery of my coffee maker to start using the pod pads. They smell good

Its a lovely coffee if we consider the price, this Is my favorite aroma and strength !

The product is only compatible with a specific type of coffee maker which I don't have. This was not made clear in the product information. These are not bags and will not make coffee by being brewed in a pot or cup.

I loove bourbon coffee... it is soo delicious

It’s actually not a bad tasting coffee, stronger than I thought, less mess to clean up after too.Just remember you do need a machine which can take these pods they aren’t a tea bag so don’t expect to put them in your mug and get a nice cup of coffee.
