I have been using potato ricer for years but now as I am getting older I'm having problems pressing the handles together and it's leaving my arms aching the next day. I bought a device which would whip cream and mash potato but the potato was the 'cheffy' kind where it is more like puree and that is not what our family likes, we want to feel the texture of potato. So we started looking but nothing appeared right for us. The closest was a large potato ricer kind of device with a handle to turn rather than press together but it was about £50. Then on a tik tok review my daughter saw this and it was perfect for us, the video she saw included a shot of the masher being placed on top of a single potato and mashing it perfectly, it also works great on a full bowl of potatoes and the silicone scraper works a treat. It's so simple to add this to the edge and means you don't have to go and get a spatula to finish the job. The price was really good, I don't know what it is but I find it really hard thinking of spending a lot of money on something to mash spuds, it just doesn't fit in my thoughts somehow and under £20 was perfect. Love it!

If you are after a new potato masher then look no further. A bit expensive as potato mashers go but we’ll worth the extra spend to get something that works amazingly without much effort. You can get the same design in plastic cheaper but thought that a metal one would stand the test of time. Absolutely love it, mash for tea every night now haha

Looks good. Washes well. I don't feel it works as well as my old Good Grips standard masher, but it does the job.

It's chunky and tough, flexible and looks great. It's easy to make mash with relatively little effort and not too tricky to clean, unlike some mashers. Recommended.

They have re-invented the wheel with this masher. It is just amazing. Perfect mash with very little effort.

I had high hopes for this item but after trying it a few times I asked for a return/refund and to be fair Amazon did this no problem.Looks great and it does mash stuff eventually but in my opinion it requires more effort and is far more awkward than a traditional masher. The food gets stuck in the coils and as you mash everything moves to the side and you have to use a spoon to put in back in the middle, for some reason it works best in the centre of the pot and doesn't catch food properly at the sides.It works even less effectively for avocado, especially for small quantities. The coils are quiet stiff (not recommended for people with wrist issues), it feels awkward to use and it just seems badly designed to me.
