Good game
Be aware there are additional levels which require an online purchase. We found the easiest way is to buy a Playstation store voucher on amazon, and use the code (which is immediately available) on the PS store. Much easier than adding my own bank card details to the PS store and more secure. We bought this game fully aware that there were additional levels to purchase and as such are very happy with it. My children have had many happy hours playing this Minecraft story. There is a version of this game which is the "complete" package with all levels included, however at time of writing it was significantly cheaper to buy this version and pay for the extra levels.

Minecraft game for PS3.
This was a gift for my granddaughter, a Minecraft fan, and was an instant hit on Christmas morning. It was included in the box with another order. The box was too big but was adequately packaged, but the item is not something that would be easily damaged.I am unable to provide an in depth review of the game but my granddaughter tells me it is a brilliant game, so I will take her word for it.

Overall ok, could be better
Bought this for my son who is 7. I knew the other episodes would need to be downloaded as they were released but didn't realise how long the last ones would take to be out. My son completed them very quickly so it's unfortunate it's taken so long to get the last episode. The game is a story like the old 80's games and books where you have to make decisions in the story. Each one changes the story path you take. There are some tasks to complete but some are just a case of frantically clicking one button. On our TV screen the writing was incredibly small compared to the rest of the game screen and a bit fuzzy. My son has loved it though so can't give a bad rating. Will have to go check if episode 5 is available yet :-)

Problems Downloading New Episodes
Incredibly disappointed so far. Unable to download episode 3 despite the game saying that it is available from 25th November and now it's the 30th. When I select the episode for Download, I am taken to a blank screen where there is no download data. Therefore, the only option I have is to exit out of it. I could download it separately for £4.99 from the Playstation Store but why should I when I've paid for a season pass? I have emailed Tell Tale Games who came back with a response that it should be available but it's not - I'm still waiting.I will update my review when this issue is resolved but this is pretty poor service if they can't meet their own release deadlines.UPDATE - 14th December 2015.I was able to download episode 3 yesterday as it is now available. I didn't do anything differently but this time when I checked, the data was there to download. So, 3 weeks after release, I was able to install Episode 3. More importantly, the customer service from TellTale Games has been absolutely disgraceful. So many emails have gone unanswered and the company clearly does not know how to communicate with its customers when there is a problem.UPDATE - 13th April 2015.Updates to Episodes 4 & 5 seemed to be available on time and were downloaded without any issues Therefore raising the rating from 1 to 4 stars. The fact remains that the communication from Telltale games was poor when it mattered most....

A little disapointing for a 9 year old.
I purchased this for my daughter and she does not like the game even though she's a big Minecraft fan.The reason she dislikes it is because you have no freedom to build what you like, instead you have to do challenges which sometimes go off track a bit with regards to what Minecraft actually is about.. If you get stuck on a part you cannot skip it, instead you are stuck there until you figure it out.Good for some but for a 9 year old they loose interest very quickly and resort back to the original Minecraft game.

My kids love it and so does my wife.
Okay I didn't love it because I'm not a fan of Minecraft. However my kids absolutely love it, as Minecraft fans. Even my wife plays it as well. The kids and the wife love Minecraft and are enjoying playing this storymode. The kids have also watched YouTube videos on the subject and my daughter has named her Minecraft plush toy after the pig in the story called Reuben.

Where's the game?
You get about 2 hours at best of gameplay, with 4 other episodes "to follow". So the rest of the game which i have paid for is currently unreleased. Almost all the game is in FMV mode with very little actual gaming choice or content. It looks like any other game intro where you want to get past the tutorial to the game proper so you can play it yourself. Only there isn't anything else. The developers have taken linear gaming and run with it until there is no actual game left. It would be better described as an interactive movie rather than a game. What little input there is, a simple timed multiple choice response, changes the game marginally. There is next to no replayable charm here.On the plus side, there's lots of humour to it. What little game there is looks polished and there are no bugs. The kids love anything Minecraft, so they love it. This is small compensation though for its massive shortcomings.Frankly I feel conned out of a full game price tag for what I would generously call an intro.

Like minecraft, but not.
My 7 year old loves this. It's basically an interactive minecraft movie. You don't get much time for dialogue choices but the game is very forgiving and there are no truly grave consequences for your actions.Maybe a bit short, but has replay value.
